Re: Kroon harness - shipping options for original

I ordered my Kroon 951 harness in December, 2024. I don't recall if I had a choice on shipping. Kroon sent it via UPS Express for 79.29 €. UPS charged $91 in Government charges and $14 in brokerage charges. I've gotten packages from Germany via DHL and never had any issues, so I'd agree with Tom on ...

Re: Starter differences 1.4 vs 1.7KW

I've posted about the 1.7 KW starter previously. I have one on my 1990 944 S2. I bought it in 2021 from Summit Racing, Bosch number SR0439X. The price back then was a bargain $185.99 with $50 core charge. You can still purchase them new from Porsche, p/n 951 604 102 00; the cost is around $870 ...

Re: universal gauges

The 968 instrument cluster could be pulled and sent out for repair to someone like North Hollywood Speedometer if you are in the USA. To me this is a far better option than what I consider to be a "tacky" add-on on the A-pillar. Could just be the sensors too if you haven't checked those.

Re: No spark from my coil

If you've triple checked all the new wiring, etc., you might try bypassing the KLR. Pull the KLR connector off, run a jumper between pins 9 and 16 in the KLR connector with a short wire and a couple of skinny spade connectors, and leave the connector off with that jumper in place. See if it starts ...

Re: 1987 944 NA DME

Depending on your budget you might consider getting a new DME from https://www.ftech9.com/new-products . If you aren't interested in future Onboard Diagnostics capability or chip changes the SPEC DME at $375 would work fine, but you'll need an old case, which you should be able to find on eBay cheap ...

Beautiful S2! Wish mine looked that nice. Unfortunately, it needs a paint job.

Re: Viable Option for TPS Replacement

I came across this and purchased a AFM from Europaparts for $300. It shipped fairly quickly. It is a Bosch original in a Bosch factory box. I can post pictures if anyone is interested. I think Bosch or a large distributor found old stock and just wanted to clear it out. The box, while not dusty ...

Re: Viable Option for TPS Replacement

Off topic but I just discovered that brand new AFMs are now available.. for about $300

For those of us keeping mostly stock... um.. should we not get one while we can??

I don't know where you can find one that cheap as both the normal 944 and the 951 rebuilt models are close to $900 each from ...

Re: Kroon Harness for 944 Turbo

...
If my line of thinking is somewhat correct, the issue would have to be one or some of the following:

1) Vacuum system component that has remained untouched before or after the engine replacement
2) I forgot to tighten a clamp somewhere, each and every time I have worked on the car
3) Timing ...

Re: MFactory LSD group buy, only 7 buyers needed!

Any idea how this new TB differential would compare to the Wavetrac? I have two Wavetracs in my A4, along with the center Torsen... and that car is incredibly stable and will drive through snow like "butta baby." The Wavetrac incorporates a design feature that partially compensates for the condition ...
