Re: Sluggish cranking during startup
Thanks for input.......probably will just do battery for overall health of electrical stuff, and then test the cable.

Sluggish cranking during startup
Engine turnover on cold start-up is very sluggish. Get WORSE after driving 30 minutes or more.
Battery, starter, alternator all check OK. However battery shows 50% charged, and meter says “charge battery and retest.”
I’m thinking of just replacing the battery, since I’m not sure how old it is. Any ...

Re: Steering wheel shake
You nailed it. Right side strut/spring shot. Replacing both of course, plus sway bar, etc. Not surprised after 25 years on chassis!

Steering wheel shake
Recently experienced steering wheel shake at 70+ mph or on rough roads at lower speed. Am rechecking alignment and wheel balancing, but what would be the next things on the list to look at? I guessing wheel bearing….but…. I have 2000 911 carrera.

Re: O2 sensor warning
Yep, it’s O2 sensor specific. Engine was built 20k miles ago, but I’m guessing the sensors weren’t touched. At 78k mile on the exhaust system, sensors seem like a good bet. I’ll change them to be safe.
Thanks.
Thanks.

O2 sensor warning
I get random “check engine” signals (could be every few days or 6 weeks) with O2 sensor fault. No evidence of actual O2 fault, and car runs perfectly. Where should I look for the origin of this signal?
BTW, recently installed Ultimate AOS, and signal seems more frequent.

Re: 996 Air Oil Separator replacement
I’m going with the UAOS and also the Accumulator. After consulting with my engine builder, Jake Raby, I decided that taking vacuum readings periodically didn’t deal with the “unlikely” catastrophic AOS failure, hydrolock, engine destruction………etc. Not replacing the AOS is way beyond my risk ...

Re: 996 Air Oil Separator replacement
I read that 5 in H2O should be right on the manometer. Do you agree. ?

Re: 996 Air Oil Separator replacement
I've seen recommendations of as early as every 20K miles, all the way to "don't fix it until it's broke."
One has to look at from where these "recommendations" are coming from. The internet and forums? I was just on the PCA Tech Q&A looking at an issue I am very familiar with and then looked ...

996 Air Oil Separator replacement
Any idea on how often the AOS should be replaced? I've seen recommendations of as early as every 20K miles, all the way to "don't fix it until it's broke." One can buy a cheap manometer to check crankcase pressure periodically, but seems like overkill. BTW, I have a rebuilt engine approaching 20K ...
