Re: To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve? 16v 3.0 Turbo

The only sleeving I will do is the MID system....which is now so expensive that it only make sense for full on racecars, 'regular' sleeves can be trouble prone for most builders.
And now Millenium Technologies just had a fire in their shop delaying production by a month.
BTW - I just (yesterday ...

Re: Cute ARP

Alusil has very good ring wear characteristics but very bad strength for ‘foreign objects’ like carbon. Aulsil has been around for 30+ years and I have never taken apart a turbo block with out some degree of scoring.
Nikasil is much harder and you can overbore the block and coat it back to exactly ...

The ARP's come with a smaller black washer, I dont like the contact path with the head so I use the ...

Re: Guess the tool

I like it! I presume you fit the TT shaft into the clutch, then screw in the bolt to allow the clutch disc to align with the pilot bearing. Yes?

I also used to use a couple of long 12mm bolts with the heads cut off (effectively studs) to get the TT in the right position for the shaft to go home ...

Re: Guess the tool

when doing a clutch job it can be bolted in place of the slave cylinder and the center bolt screws in to open up the pressure plate so that the torque tube will slip In to place effortlessly. Total cost…about 50 cents!
