The didn't give me a straight answer except that the problem was with cylinder #6 "deep in the engine". There was bore scoring visible, but ver faint. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Macan, but make sure you have a warranty. I also bought the Porsche Platinum Plus warranty for about $5k, will ...

Finally got the car back today. Happy ending, new engine in the car, runs perfect, and Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte did a great job informing me throughout the process with videos. Although it took about 2 months, Porsche NA make it right.

It's the 3.0 single turbo. Just received word that the old engine is out, new one on it's way in. Taking forever!

I'm driving a Macan T as a loaner while waiting on my S (see my thread on Macan S Engine Trouble). I can't wait to get my S back. The base engine is not enough unless you are a city driver stop light to stop light. Not enough HP for this 4200lb car.

Porsche AG said they would provide a full engine replacement. Frankly, I'm shocked, I expected to have a fight. Long block, new, and would be installed in the next two weeks after all parts come in. I'll update after I get it back and inspect it.

Great idea on pictures. I just asked the dealer to let me see it after the head is pulled.
