That's unfortunate news about the necessity of a top coat. I'll definitely hang in there, all the while admiring your persistence...

For the sake of simplicity, I hope the single stage paint proves to be durable enough w/ no need for the satin top coat. Fortunately, the installed bezels mostly should be out of harm's way.

Thanks for obtaining the leather sample and beginning the hunt. Fingers are crossed for a viable off-the-shelf option, or, at worst, a custom color match if the paint shop can work w/ the leather.

Getting the leather scraps is a terrific idea. Many thanks for all the energy you're putting into this project. If you find success w/ the BR paint match, I'd be more than glad to reimburse you for the cost...

re Bordeaux, I don't think there is a paint code. Rennbow does not show it as an exterior paint color, and when Porsche paints interior trim, they do it to match exterior paint. So, I had an idea.... would either of you be interested in going some place that sells paint and finding one of those ...

Sorry for the slow reply - been out of pocket. The only Bordeaux Red in my interior are the front and rear deviated seat inserts in an otherwise all-black interior w/ chalk stitching. Both gauge faces are white - IIRC, BR gauge faces were not an available option for the 992. Will post an interior ...
