Re: Bouncy oil pressure needle - is there actually a solve?

@Tom FINALLY getting around to this now that the weather's warm. Bought some 1000uf capacitors, but I can't tell which side of the polarity you have going from the sender / ground down at the sender. Do you have the negative side going to the PS pump to ground? New to capacitor theory!

Thank you

Re: Setting Mechanical Throttle Stop - How?

Do what you can to get the screw adjustment close, as mentioned by others, slightly open, but final adjustment will need to be done while the car is running. Proceed with setting the screw to have the TB slightly open, install on the car and adjust from there until it is approximately 900 rpm ...

Re: Setting Mechanical Throttle Stop - How?

The real key to getting the idle stop properly set is to ensure the throttle blade is perfectly centered. Failing this proper alignment, it will always be out of adjustment. Once satisfied is properly centered (I hold it up to the light to see how much light comes through and uniformity), I prefer ...

Setting Mechanical Throttle Stop - How?

Hi folks!

Finally got around to doing a throttle body reseal during a warm day here in NY using the Tom/Arnnworx kit, and remembered that once upon a time, a shop had incorrectly adjusted my mechanical throttle stop.

Since I have the intake and TB off the car, I'd like to take this opp to ...

Re: Is this a sticking starter on cold start?

I'll be curious to learn what it turns out to be. Can't honestly say I've ever heard anything quite like that on these cars. Your motor is cranking on the slow side. If you charge the battery over night, does it still make that sound?

This is fresh off being on a battery tender overnight, with ...

Is this a sticking starter on cold start?

Noise has been fairly consistent for the last year or two on cold starts. ONLY happens on cold starts, and most prevalent in colder weather although it does happen during the NY summers.

Do we think this is a sticking stater solenoid? Or something worse?
Only thought would be cam chain tensioner ...

Re: Bouncy oil pressure needle - is there actually a solve?

i’d definitely be interested in a PCB, love the idea of anything non-destructive to make the fix, and this is the only actual solve i’ve ever seen to this issue.

but that said, may order a few capacitors in the meantime - what three values did you use on your board? funny enough, my needle bounce ...

Re: Bouncy oil pressure needle - is there actually a solve?

Tom, blown away by your analysis yet again :)

i’d read the same theory somewhere on the internet that theres a “damping system” thats gone bad but never actually to the point that i’ve understood what’s going on, so THANK YOU! This makes complete sense

so curious what you solve will be, and also ...
