Re: Inexpensive 911 tire options
I don't where they fall in the price range but I switched to all-season Continental DSW 06 on my daily-driven '18 Targa and have been pleased with their on-road performance. They're not as grippy when pushed hard as the Pirelli P-Zero tires I had on there before, but handle much better in the wet ...

Re: Quarter windows not working on 2014 911 cabriolet
There are several fuses. 1, 10, 7 & 4.
I'd start with seeing if there's power at the fuses. Use a volt meter on the face of the fuses. There are two little exposed areas on the face of a fuse where you can hold a voltmeter probe (the other end against a ground point). If you see 12v on both tips ...

Re: The 992.2 Turbo S thread...
I don't mind the digital displays.
But I totally despise how they've cheaped out the plastics for controls. It started with the Macan, where they 'value engineered' the interior (aka made it cheaper). They forced that on the Taycan and have since dragged it into the 992. I hate it. At the price ...

Re: Targa Roof Error 2024 GTS
There are different variants of Krytox. I don't know what differentiates them. I've been lead to believe the factory uses GPL105, which is an oil. I'd wonder if that tube is 'the same' or not.

Re: Targa Roof Error 2024 GTS
My '18 handles it in stages (and iirc, so does the 992 series). First it moves the glass back and stops, then opens the bar flaps while the the roof panel moves and stops, and then finally closes the glass. The top and glass are never both moving at the same time. A quick search on youtube might let ...

Re: Targa Roof Error 2024 GTS
Yes, I have only had to nudge at the start of the roof panel being lifted from the windshield frame.
I only asked about when because half-way of the whole operation is different than half-way of just the overhead roof panel section making it's movement. Which sounds like it's the roof movement part ...

Re: Targa Roof Error 2024 GTS
half-way on which part? I have noticed on my '18 Targa that if there's been any rain/moisture the seal where the roof weatherstripping meets the windshield weatherstripping the two will sometimes stick together... just enough to throw an error. If I remember the weather's been wet I'll give the roof ...

Re: Best AWD tires for a 2014 991.1 911 Turbo?
I swapped out Pirelli p-zeros for Continental DWS06+ and have been pleased with them.
I'll second the recommendation to ask the dealer for pricing. I didn't for these, as I've had great prices and support from Radial Tire (a local shop in Maryland). But I'd gotten pretty competitive pricing from ...

ah, right, resin certainly has advantages over FDM. The Formlabs is a nice unit.

Re: Tachometer Clip-on Bezel
Painting 3D printed plastic is indeed a chore, even more so when you're doing a small surface area that's going to be right in your line of sight.
Getting it printed with as few layer line artifacts as possible is tedious, especially with curved surface. Variable line height helps, but can GREATLY ...
