Re: New Sticker Poll

"D"....as in 'definitely ' the best one.....Simple and elegant. Folks will have to ask, WTF is that ? and you can give a personal testimonial ....word of mouth is the strongest form of advertising.

I have a 356 Convertible D...but that had NO influence on my choice.....really.

Re: Rarest Colors

My personal favorite "rare color" is from the 1960's...."Leaf Green". Also, there is "Olive Green", from the same era.

BUT, as a famous frog once said..."it isn't easy being Green..."

IS Carrara White "rare" ???

I was invited to show my 996 TARGA at Werks Reunion Monterey, this summer, and, this guy that was chatting with me about it, stated that White, was a very rare color on 996's. I had never heard that before, and, was wonder if is is based in fact ? or, him just pulling my leg ??? Are there any other ...

The KEY to financial success ????

My 996.2 TARGA came with just one key. The factory one with the remote button to lock the doors and open the rear window "hatch" (eat your heart out coupes..) SO, I went to the Dealer to see about getting a 2nd one. The quote was almost $800 !!!!!! FOR A KEY !!!!!!!! So, I went to my local trusted ...

Re: I would love your opinions on this car....

V-MPG....Do NOT...give up on your quest. There are a LOT of 996.1 and 996.2 's out there. Check Craigslist and Pelican BBS, Beverly Hills Car Club and THESAMBA classifieds, etc. do NOT go to Bring a Trailer....that's a "Seller friendly" site, NOT a "Buyer Friendly" site. You can also check Car Gurus ...

Re: I saw the first car to bear the Porsche name.....

I saw one of the Rome-Berlin cars in the 90's at Monterey....the DNA for the 356 was very much on display. I heard that one of these cars, was discovered in a German's garage by occupying US Army dudes, who got it running and drove it to death....not knowing WHAT...they had.....

Re: Werks reunion 2025?

AND....there is also the Werks Reunion (west) in Monterey on August 15th, during Monterey's famous "Car Week". I have gone every year, and, will be there this year, too. I have shown several different cars there, at the PCA Membership "tent" where I volunteer each year. It is ALWAYS Porsche overkill ...

Re: Smog Exemption Status for US ALL!! (In California)

I sold my absolutely stunningly restored 912E (Light Yellow over black leather, sunroof, Fuchs....) because it was near impossible to keep it smog complaint here in California. It's a 1976 model, so JUST missed the 1975 exemption limit. I was very sad to part with it, but, I couldn't drive it ...
