Re: 928s4 AC snaffu

Those caps, along with plastic dipstick handles and oil caps, scrub clean with some Comet and a stiff brush, a bit of hot water, and seven ounces of elbow grease . It pains me to see perfectly good plastic caps showing a lifetime of greasy-fingers staining, even in a well-detailed engine bay ...

Re: Ethanol Free Gas

Here in South East Tennessee my local station has a 87, 89 and 93 ethanol free pump. I've filled my 944 with nothing but their 87. If I get stuck were I need to get E gas I'd grab 89. Just to be safe.

That said, I have debated E85 setups for a long time in my other turbo car. Even ran a tank once ...

Re: New Digital 944 Timing Belt Tensioning Tool

That is just insane pricing!! Although supply and demand determine the cost... so it does add up

Tom We are all cheering you on!
Did you buy your own 4 axis CNC yet? That would make this a little quicker :D

I printed the thingiverse model for @EuroFighter2003 and will be quite interested to hear how they work. If less than great, I might do my own version. There are some real gems on thingiverse, but you have to fight through a lot of 'unpolished' models (ahem) to find them. Time will tell ...

Re: VE Values Low at Idle - Standalone

What standalone? In my 2.6 turbo mitsu running megasquirt, the VE values are in the high teens around idle @13.5 AFR. As others stated, I'd check your injector settings. Also the required fuel setting. At idle I always shoot for a little rich. Say 13.5-13.7 BUT if yours is happy at stoic, then that ...

If you can find them! I've been looking for OE flat top pistons for a while, and only the dished ones are available new. I looked for months for decent used ones, but didn't find any. If you've found a good set, go for it!

I wound up getting new Wössner pistons, and I'm crossing my fingers that ...

Re: Classic Car Weekday Driving Ban

Apparently Minnesota has solved all of it's real problems, so this is just the next on the list, right?
For sure Willy! Sounds like another political stunt to appease the "green" minority and steal money. In my opinion

They should be snug. I use a brass hammer on this type of pin if you can't just push it in.

Re: My filthy car

That before and after is impressive! I have no envy for the light color interior and keeping it clean. The products you used are getting put on my list.
I have a steam cleaner that has worked well on other cars. That's usually my first go to.
