Re: Porsche 928 5-speed Transaxle and much more

Hello Sonny, I'll take $270 plus shipping for the pair of 928-343-055-07 Sachs Front Shock Absorbers.

Regarding the automatic to 5 speed conversion kit, the ability to transfer a 1979 928 drivetrain to a 928 S4 may be possible as I have ALL the 1979 parts. I don't know anyone who has done it, so I ...

Two Rare Birds 928 GTS and B-17G

Rich's 1993 928 GTS.jpeg

The Arizona Region PCA visited the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum in March 2026. My Amazon Green 1993 928 GTS is one of 120 sold in the USA. This B-17G is one of three that are still flying and taking passengers for introduction flights.

955/957 Automatic Transmission Valve Body Replacement

The first generation 955 and 957 transmissions are sourced from Aisin TR-60SN. They're used in VW, Audi, Porsche and Lexus.

From research, I've read that hard shifting problems occur in the 120,000 to 150,000 miles. My symptoms were a bit different that the normal "banging" between shifts. My ...

Re: Goodbye 1979 928 Track Beast – Hello Super 1979 Street Car

The short block that recently sold from my red car was in excellent condition. The block of 928s will last a good long time with proper oil change intervals.

1978 - 1979 928 CIS hard start problems

Dr. bob provided a lot of great information regarding the cold start fuel injector in the Fuel Pump Not Priming thread.

I'll address a CIS hot start problem that may be difficult to diagnose. I found this issue with both of my 1979 928s.

The Fuel pressure accumulator is a spring loaded piston in ...

New to Carpokes

I recently joined Carepokes. My main interest has been Porsche 928s, I own four (well, soon to be three). A few years ago we purchased my wife's 2009 base 957. I enjoy some light off-roading and can attest that the First Gen Cayennes are quite capable. The low-range and differential lock provides ...

Re: Goodbye 1979 928 Track Beast – Hello Super 1979 Street Car

Thanks Tom!

I found a good home for my short block and hope more 928s will run with these take-off parts.

I've done some work on our 2009 Base Cayenne (VR6 engine, 211,000 miles on it) and look forward to good discussions in that forum too.

Goodbye 1979 928 Track Beast – Hello Super 1979 Street Car

I’ve been tracking my 1979 Euro 928 for over 25 years. It has many upgrades that made it a very fun car. I purchased it race prepared, it included; interior removed, racing seats, 5-point harness, MSDS headers and 4 inch single pipe custom exhaust, full race cage, upgraded 928 S4 Brembo brakes ...
