@spacecad3t I love your test drive! Congrats on getting it sorted. I finished up my suspension mods late last night/early this morning so I could make it to my alignment appointment this morning. I was able to get the torsion bars installed correctly to meet my ride height goal and also corner balanced it with adjustable springs and torsion bars adjusters. While I used the Clark’s garage procedure, I have a few notes that I think would help the next person tackling the torsion bars.
Keep posting those great pictures.

The thread continues! Lets talk about sway bars...
I was going to go with upgrading to MO30 30mm front and 19mm rear but then I got reading about how that may cause the front of the car to lift in turns. Plus, at $1000 for everything, Im not convinced I need a 30mm front bar... I took a look at Clarks garage, and for my car, with the 21.5mm front bar, it had an option for an 18mm rear bar.
I see more 19mm rear bars available and thats only 1mm more, I cant imagine that would be noticeable?
My car doesn't have any rear bar currently, so I will also need to change out my rear eccentric bolts for the longer versions... are these a pain to get out? Can you just lift the rear control arms and pound the eccentrics out? I also imagine I can mark my old ones and get my rear alignment close enough- would like to do this one on the street one weekend and avoid the need for an alignment if possible.

@spacecad3t
I have a set of bars (25.5mm front and 18mm rear) that you are welcome to. (no drop links though)
I've had them for 25+ years sitting on a shelf in the garage. It'd be great to pass them along if you think you might be interested.
Cheers

I just replaced the bushings and drop links on my front 21.5mm bar. But, I would happily pay you for the 18mm rear... want to DM me?Gaspowered wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 6:45 am @spacecad3t

Also @Gaspowered not sure if you know- Im having a hard time confirming online... how challenging it is to remove the eccentric bolts to install the elongated versions for mounting the rear drop links. Trying to gauge if it's actually a street job or if I should wait.

Just got the bars down off the shelf.
There is a small bit of surface corrosion on one end. A wire brush and some Krylon would probably work wonders.
Here's the front... JIC...
Unfortunately, I really don't know regarding the difficulty of changing out the rear eccentric bolts, maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.
I bought these 25+ years ago to put on an '88 na I had until I picked up the Turbo S. I never got around to installing them or any others.
How much corrosion do you have on your suspension?
The best purchase I made for suspension work is a mid-torque impact gun.
It makes easy work removing nuts and bolts exposed to the elements. Penatrating oil helps as well.
If you'll pay for shipping, it's yours.
Cheers

@Gaspowered Really appreciate you sharing those sway bars with me. They will have a good home.
I just got myself a new impact gun... I'm mainly wondering if there is a trick to getting the eccentric out without the spring plate miss aligning the hole.
I also just want to say, its funny to see that same caliper I have appear in this thread again. I need to put a new battery in mine

No worries. Glad to see they found a good home.
I don't think there'll be too much of an issue with aligning the holes. Be sure to mark (trace) the orientation of the cam bolt before removal. Might not hurt to do the same to the spring plate as well. Then install as removed.
Cheers
