Hi Tom. You make a good point, that probably the only way to see how the license plate surround piece is attached is by taking off the bumper in an effort to see if there are any fasteners on the back side. And to your point if there are, let’s hope they’re within the perimeter of a US plate, and can’t be see. I’ve attached a picture of one of the first 992 GT’s in the US. Sure enough, it has the license plate surround piece. Maybe we should start calling it a 992 bumperette? I also attached a picture of the 992 GT3 US press car with no 992 bumperette. Not sure what that means, but hopefully it means the piece can be removed. And you’re right, the tow hook has now been moved from behind the rear plate like on a 991, to the right side of the bumper on the 992. Sorry about posting as a guest previously. I’m new to this kind of stuff, and wasn’t quite sure how it all works. Mitch

Found these pictures of a 992 Turbo rear bumper cap on ebay. Doesn't look promising. Looks like it may be set up to accommodate various plate surrounds for different markets?

Hi Tom. This is great intel and pretty much tells the entire story. Darn! I’ll continue to follow, and keep everybody posted if I learn anything different. Thanks, Mitch

These look great.
The license plate mounting and standard plastic sun visors are two Porsche deficiencies!

Hi Tom
I'd definitely like to get a set (if this forum will ever let me PM you. I think I remember that I have to post a certain number of times before it will let me, so I'm looking for things to reply to. Maybe you could PM me so I can place an order?)

I like it when newcomers post and get used to the board, so that works for me, but like I said in the official 718 License Plate Mount thread, newcomers can also just email me at Admin@carpokes.com if the 3-post thing is annoying.

Even though the board is new/small still, if I don't turn on some of the basic anti-spam tools, we get hit with bots signing up accounts and posting/sending gibberish/spam. Putting newcomers in a Newly Registered category helps block that (somewhat), but unfortunately means you need 3 posts to send a PM...

Tom, I’d love two sets of these, both for a 991.1. I’m new here so couldn’t PM you, feel free to drop me a note.
