Considering that Porsche charges $700 to change two gauge dial colors and $420 to change color on the sports chrono dial, I’d guess somewhere north of $400 if they offered it.🤔

He was checking out the interior, with the exterior painted trim, and noted how well it looked. Then he mentioned the mode dial cover and said that was the best finishing touch Porsche did to tie it all together. When I told him the source of the cover was Tom (including the CarPokes story) and not Porsche, he couldn't believe it. They look factory, folks.
Thank you for that story and the kind words. I honestly love making them and how they wake-up the interior without looking like an obvious add-on. :)

I've been struggling about how to distribute these. At first, I was using them simply to help Carpokes attract new members, but that only worked so-so, as many people just came for the free parts and never participated on the forum. So then I tried the post-count 'policy' which helped, but set up a weird dynamic and tension I didn't like. Then there are the people who asked for more than I could reasonably accommodate -- one person asked for 9 covers in various standard and custom colors -- 'since they are free.'

So, after much deliberation, I've decided to start charging $49 each for the 718 mode dial covers, plus $5 shipping (within the US), and will likely give discounts to people who have gone the extra mile to contribute on Carpokes. Folks still need to have a registered Carpokes account to get one, and I may adjust the price after I see how this goes.

Right now, I have a batch of six 718 mode dial covers. PM or email me if you'd like a red one. I plan to do a batch in yellow then Shark Blue next and will post when those are available. :)
9 covers??? Probably someone who would have sold them at profit over the internet!

Thanks Tom! Definitely cool item. I had requested (probably the first week or so) a chalk one. I'm guessing this wasn't an easy color to make - or maybe not high in demand? I even did the post like you had mentioned. I'd definitely pay for one too if you end up selling them :) Just wanted to check in.

Sorry about that. I was getting a bit overwhelmed at the time with request, health issues, life, etc. Going forward, my plan is to do them in color batches. Chalk is tough on several levels -- requires a 2 stage paint and shows flaws like crazy -- so I end up tossing many out. I will do a batch at some point, but plan to build up a supply of the most popular colors first. Right now, all I have is red, but planning to do yellow and blue next. Then maybe Chalk.
