Tom- recvd today, thx for the quick shipment! It won’t fit on the Jeep tho, no worries I’ll have my GTS late next week.
Sharp packaging too btw!

Let me jump back in here with a BIG thanks to Tom. The dark red is pretty much a perfect match to Carmine Red contrast stitching on my GTS Interior package. This was the final piece after adding red dummy key and extended Racesing paddle shifters.

Wow that looks great altogether like that. That paint is part chameleon. It is actually very close to Guards Red, maybe just a smidge darker than a brand new car in GR, but I can get a darker appearance that's pretty close to Carmine by letting more of the grey base come through. Not close enough to blend a panel, etc., but on a noncontiguous part like that, it's hard for the eye to pick up subtle shade differences.

Thoroughly agree, it wasn’t this topic that brought me to Carpokes but I can see the uniqueness of this project and I share in Toms vision 👍

On that note 😇 can I be added, please, to the growing list for a Carpokes 718 cover in racing yellow?

In addition and as a little project of my own, when I first read about these covers and that an STL file was available for download I asked a pal who has a filament 3D printer if he fancied having a go, of course he did 😜

I’ve no idea at all about 3D printing so filament/50 micron/resin etc meant nothing to me but my pal advised on the difficulty in getting ultra detail in non resin printing, anyway, he had a go and the pics show what he achieved and even painted it yellow for effect after printing in red.

I believe he modified something to get the top ridge smoother but when you see the pics the difference in ‘quality’ between what he managed and what Toms pics show is remarkable - so the Genuine Carpokes Dial Cover should become a collector's item 😉
I posted this the other day, but came across this post looking for something else, and thought you might find it particularly interesting since you tried printing your own earlier. Home-style FDM printer just keep getting better and cheaper. I just got the latest generation Bambu Lab printer, starting under $700, and this video shows the incredible detail it can create. Not fully on par with resin, but inching pretty close and pretty mind-blowing since the one you printed has been pretty much the norm for non-resin printers until now....
