Spyder owners: Anyone bothered by the holes...
So has anyone tried VHT SP27? It is supposed to give a satin exterior plastic trim sort of look, which might be just the finish in this case.

I have not but based on the pictures in some of the reviews I agree that it might be worth a shot!m3drivers wrote: Tue Feb 14, 2023 7:27 pm So has anyone tried VHT SP27? It is supposed to give a satin exterior plastic trim sort of look, which might be just the finish in this case.

I sent you raw and powder coated ones. I think the powder coating might be just what the doctor ordered, so am interested to see what you think....Bob Z wrote: Tue Feb 14, 2023 7:34 pmI have not but based on the pictures in some of the reviews I agree that it might be worth a shot!m3drivers wrote: Tue Feb 14, 2023 7:27 pm So has anyone tried VHT SP27? Here are what the powder-coated ones look like on the car. I think they look pretty good, and much better than unplugged holes!

That was Eastwood 'satin' black power, which came out a bit less satin-y than I expected. I also have a semi-gloss black (or could buy whatever) which might be closer still. The anodized ones should look nice too, so I'm not inclined to experiment with additional finishes until we see those. The anodizing added time to the process, but I am supposed to get them on March 8. I'm very much hoping those who signed up for the anodized ones are still planning to get them so I don't end up holding the bag.

No worries Tom, I am good for the orderTom wrote: Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:46 pm The anodizing added time to the process, but I am supposed to get them on March 8. I'm very much hoping those who signed up for the anodized ones are still planning to get them so I don't end up holding the bag.![]()

I took another look and did not concentrate on that area, and unless someone told me I would not think they look out of place. I took the pics in the garage with fluorescent lights and I suspect that when outside tomorrow with the top down of course I will not even notice them. As Tom said there are so many options to choose from that it is not worth the effort! Just for the heck of it, I put in one of the old ones, with the satin black vinyl I swore was almost a perfect match and it really does not look much different! And the angle one looks at them changes how they look as well so I think we are good to go!

I am working on painting the raw ones I received from Tom a week or so ago. I used a satin black paint and a matte clear coat. Had some initial painting issues (I am not patient with paint). Will post some picts and details on Tuesday with the results. I am also still in for the anodized set. Also, when you don’t have mineral spirits, your kid’s finger nail polish remover does the trick.
