Our local Porsche dealer has templates - a bunch of them. I even know where they keep 'em stored.Larry C wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:38 am When I had my Audi RS3, I asked the dealer to change the rear emblem. They had a template and changed the emblem perfectly in 5 minutes. There was no charge. I’m sure the Porsche dealerships have similar templates.
Unlike Leader's experience with his Porsche dealer, the techs here are extraordinarily conscientious, at least all the ones I deal with. Maybe that is out of the ordinary regarding cosmetic type work but I wouldn't think Porsche certified techs would be sloppy about anything related to their work. They have to be good on the cosmetic side of things, especially considering all of the various trim panels, body parts, dashboards, seats, add-ons, etc. inside and outside the vehicles that have to be removed to fix pretty much anything on later gen Porsches.
But, as with pretty much everything in our lives, it boils down to the individual(s) doing whatever it is that needs to be done. No one is guaranteed immunity from shoddy, untrained, unskilled work or care no matter the field. However, steps can be taken to limit risk.
