Hello All,
I just signed on this morning. I live in Anderson, SC and have been a PCA member for almost 20 years (May 2023 rings the bell). I currently drive a '03 Boxster S. I started with a 87 944 NA in 2000, moved to a 83 911 SC, and then went to a 87 944 Turbo. I still lust after an early 911, the Boxster S checks all the boxes. The only downside is it can be a challenge to work on.
My garage also includes a 73 VW Thing, a 72 VW Bug project (pieces all over the garage), 81 VW Rabbit Pickup, and a 18 Tiguan. I like German steel (OK, some are made in Mexico or Pennsylvania).
I'm a retired engineer and enjoy automobiles!

Welcome aboard Norm. Carpokes is starting to feel like an un-official outpost for PCA members, which is awesome! Great collection of cars, past and present! We have the "O.K. Corral" forum here, which serves as our version of an 'off-topic' section (but without the connotations that sometimes come with the 'off-topic' title). It would be the perfect place to share the VW projects!NormGarr87 wrote: Thu Apr 20, 2023 10:02 am Hello All,

Greetings-
I am a new member joining from Austin, TX.
I bought my first Porsche in 1980. It was a 1970 911E with a 100,000 miles. It was fun but also required a lot of maintenance. I managed to blow the engine and couldn't afford to fix it so I parted ways with that car in 1983. My Porsche desires never stopped and I finally bought another 911, a 2018 Targa 4S, in October 2022. I love this car. I do wish that it was a manual instead of a PDK (which is amazing) but didn't find the right car in the used 911 market.
I am glad to join this forum
thank you for the opportunity.

Welcome to Carpokes! Love the backstory - nice that it didn't leave a bad taste. Would also like to see your Targa if you care to post pictures. (This is a very picture-friendly site so we encourage all the pics we can get.Scooter2000 wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 2:28 pm Greetings-

Speaking of a Targa, I currently have it on the brain that I might want one some day, so I'm always interested in the ins and outs, the good and the bad (but not the ugly - there is none!) of Targa owners and their experiences.
My wife was outside of Austin earlier this month in Fredericksburg for a week-long bicycle trip there. She said it was gorgeous - Bluebonnets were out in force!
PS - I love 3-pedal but Porsche PDK rules! (Just my opinion.

Yet another beautiful Cabriolet - great looking from the top color to the paint color to wheels. And of course, the oh-so-clean lines of the car itself. Nice!
A second welcome to Carpokes and also a thanks for the New Member thread post!
