Here is my list of pending license plate orders, including any missing info I need from you. If I've missed anyone/anything (as of Aug 12, 11:30am PDT) please let me know. I'll keep this list updated somewhat regularly. :)

1. Edirtaynine (991.1 – shipped)
2. Dan N (shipped)
3. BzzzBom (shipped)
4. ShiGureKaiSei (shipped)
5. slilley (shipped)
6. Kkgt3rs (shipped)
7. Chono (shipped)
8. JP4931 (shipped)
9. Arty09 (shipped)
10. StormRune (shipped )

And again, to order a set ($30 shipped for first set this month; $45 thereafter) just PM me with the following information:

1) The year and model of your car(s)
2) How many sets you need (per car if multiple cars)
3) Any special color requests. No promises on colors, and they can take longer since it required changing out the plastic in the machine to run a special set, etc., but if you really want a color, I'll do my best. :)
4. Your email address for purposes of sending a PayPal invoice

Thanks all! Let's make Carpokes OUR p-car home on the interweb!

Weirdly, Porsche sells its new 911's without a license plate mount and wants you to drive self-tapping screws into the plastic bumper cap. The plate then rubs against the car's finish and the holes wear and get loose, requiring bigger screws, etc. That's especially problematic for track guys who have to routinely remove the plate in order to expose the tow hook port.

When I got my '18 991 Turbo S, I refused to shove sheet metal screws into the bumper and came up with my own mounts. They are 3D-printed, with heat-set brass threads, and are held in place with the uber-strong 3M Molding tape. I've quietly made over a hundred sets for fellow 991 owners, mostly on a word-of-mouth basis, but when the 991 went out of production, I pretty much stopped making them.

But... back my popular demand! I recently got a 992 Turbo S (amazing car) and decided make an updated mount to fit this car. They changed the license plate mounting area just enough that my original design didn't fit. It takes my quite a while to make a set, so wildly inefficient, but if anyone is in need for a 992, let me know. I'm only making them for active Carpokes members at this point, so if you need a set, join up and start posting. :)

License plate screws into these mounts, keeping it off the paint, and preserving your bumper.

Groves in the mounts ensure they self-align so plates will line up without a fuss.

I have purchased 3 sets from Tom. Well-crafted, good materials, and easily mounted. Well worth the very modest cost and effort.

When I first learned of Tom's plate mounts I was wondering why they were even needed. But I found out days later after I inadvertently stripped the threads on my bumper after multiple changing out of license plates and plate frames. Now that they're installed I know the plates will stay put and I no longer have to worry about them coming loose. Great product!

Before I came across these +/-3 years back I was trying to make something/anything in my garage with different tow hook license plate mounts that you could set the angle ect. I was determined not drive screws into the bumper.

Never got too far with that project because I was introduced to these. I think I'm on my 3rd set - can't remember and doesn't matter. What matters is they a rock solid and install with ease-well done.

Going to be some happy 992 folks with the new offering!

Anything you guys could do to spread the word and get people over here to see these would be awesome! :) I'm trying to attract a 991/992 crowd over here, and figure these mounts might be a good draw. :)

I loved the mounts on my 991.2 Targa GTS and hopefully, you can come up for some for my replacement, a 2021 718 Spyder - I will post pics of the rear plate area soon.

Welcome to Carpokes Bob Z! Spread the word! Remind me, on that car, does the license plate mount to a painted part of the bumper or a black plastic area? My local dealer has installed these mounts on base 992's with black plastic, so either seems to be ok, but I might increase the moulding tape surface area if the 718 isn't painted where the plate goes... .

It attaches to the painted area and from what I recall it had tiny indents where the 4 screws go so the ones you have for the 991s may work; however, there are no raised areas to ensure they line up properly. I guess I would have to tape them on the back of the plate first and then put it on the car. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it here.

And I will be sure to spread the word...time for a new place for the cool kids to hang out, and me, too!

Here is what the plate area of the 718 Spyder looks like, and it is probably the same as other 718s so maybe someone can let Tom take a look at their car so he can make these for us? Or I can take a piece of paper and put it over the area and press along the edges to make a template for you Tom.
