Not sure it’s necessary, but I’m letting the brackets sit overnight before I attach the license plate + frame. I did a test fit to ensure that the holes are aligned, and all seems good.

Thanks again, Tom, for the awesome product!

Thank YOU for the great photos! Quick question, is the rear plate area pre-drilled from the factory, or are there just little dimples that show where one would drill? I’m hoping the latter, as I would like to use Tom’s amazing solution to avoid drilling my car at all when it finally arrives.

Thanks,
Luke

There are dimples in the stock bumper. Installing Tom's license plate mount was the first mod I did to my car - even before signing the paperwork and taking full ownership of it! My Sales Advisor was kind enough to put a big piece of blue painters tape over the spot when the car came off the carrier with "DO NOT DRILL" written on it. So my rear bumper is screw-hole-free!

Hey guys. Tom recently sent me some 718 license mounting hardware to try on my 987 Cayman. As you can see, they worked great! I believe the top piece Tom sent is a 992 piece that is slotted to accommodate a raised boss on the top, whereas the bottom pieces were completely flat, like the 718. Even though I already affixed directly to the bumper originally, this is a great solution, and covers up the original holes. Highly recommended! Mitch

I've decided to have an impromptu Thanksgiving sale/718 membership drive.

From now until the end of this weekend, anyone who signs up on Carpokes and posts a new member intro (confirming they have a 718) can get a set of black 718 License Plate mounts for $25 shipped to the US. That's nearly giving them away. :)

And if any new member (with any Porsche, in hand or on order) posts and intro and says they were referred here by an existing member, whether or not they buy anything, then the existing member will win a free Carpokes baseball cap like these:

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=240&p=2105&hilit=hats#p2105

Tell your friends. :) Happy Thanksgiving!

(As a technicality in the off chance I get bombarded, I'll officially limit this to the first 10 sets of mounts, and 10 hats.)

Hey Mike -- welcome to Carpokes! Yes, the mounts are still available, but for a 991.1 you want the mounts linked below and not the 718 mounts in this thread. The 718 has a much simpler mounting area without the ridges and bosses on your car. But the good news is we have you covered here:

Feel free to email me at admin@carpokes.com and we can get you a set. :)

Hi Tom: third post for me, also. I will send you a PM for one black set for my yet-to-arrive 718 BGTS4 ASAP. The mounts are an excellent solution to the rear license plate no-drill challenge.
