While at the dealership today I asked and my Gold tech go-to friend said that wheel hop was not something that's been an issue he's aware of. He did suggest trying the higher pressures to see if any difference, so I'd be curious if the higher non-comfort pressures help any.

However, whether the pressures help or not, I'm inclined to lay the blame on Pirelli. The P Zero Max Performance Summer Porsche "N0" were OEM on our Cayenne Turbo at delivery and I couldn't wait to get them off and get Michelins installed in their place. Didn't have to wait long as the front Pirellis were done before 10k easy driving miles by my wife. The Michelins ride and handle much better. Better wear too.

10k, easy driving on fronts? Wow!! Hard to be a repeat Pirelli customer with that kind of performance.

I did accelerate several times with traction control off (long press) along with increasing the pressure +2psi and could not make the tires hop. Could've been a combo of traction control and lower pressure causing the result.

I appreciate the feedback you guys are giving. Very helpful. I think I'll try a little harder to wear these Pirellis out so I can enjoy Michelins before colder weather gets here.

I've also noticed that some 992's (at least 2020's & 2021's were coming from factory with GoodYears.
Yes on the Goodyears. My 2022 Turbo S came with them and I then added a second set of wheels/tires for winter use, also Goodyears. Both are made in Germany which seems a positive to me and both are Porsche N-rated tires. So far they are great and I can easily recommend them. More time will tell of course but all that I've seen tends to support the quite favorable feedback I've seen for the Goodyears.

My 992 TTS tires: 255/35-ZR20 (front) & 315/30-ZR21 (rear) Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport Max Performance Summer "NAO" (Germany). Winter (Porsche) tires 245/35R20 (front) & 305/30R21 (rear) Goodyear M+S Ultra Grip Performance "NAO" Gen 1 (Germany).

I will definitely consider Goodyear then. Good to know, Tim. So the winter tires aren't as wide as the summer tires. Interesting. If you're happy with Goodyear's on a Turbo S, then I know I'll be fine!! :)

I experienced the wheel hop thing with my 991.2S but when I purchased my 992S I switched to Michelin (sp) tires and have been happy with performance and ride. JMO
