This is a fun exercise, going way back to 1975:
75 - first car - 1967 GTO
76 - traded titles for a 1970 GTO in Black
78 - Datsun 240Z (Can't recall what year the car was)
81 - Datsun 280Z
82 - This was the year I drove a Guards Red Porsche 930 Turbo.
But couldn't afford one.
83 - Fell in love with my college roommate's Alpha Spyder
85 - 90 NO CAR - living in the City
91 - Saab 900 Turbo
94- Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon and Red Alpha Spyder Graduate Edition
96 - Added a Volvo 850 Turbo Sedan
00 - Audi A6 6sp Biturbo 6.
04 - Audi A6 4.2 V8
08 - BMW 550I
12 - BMW 550IX M Sport
17 - Added a 2004 Porche C4S
20 - BMW X5M - still have that 911.
I love my cars, love to drive, and I need a car that I am excited to get behind the wheel of. The EV's have come a long way, but I'm not ready to make that leap just yet. The longer I wait, the better they get. So maybe in a few more years.

This could be interesting since my wife commented to friends the other day that I was so addicted to getting vehicles that early in our marriage I could no longer buy any more cars without getting a " Dealer's License " but here goes. My first car I bought when I was 18 after saving up from the time I started working at 15. I got it after I graduated HS in 1970 and it was only one year old.

9. 1975 Black Chevy panel Van, with custom white mag wheels
10. 1976 Triumph TR7
11. 1977 Brown Pontiac TA 6.6 Trans Am

Here was somewhat of a stopping point for reality, because in 1994 I got back into the car business and this meant every time a great lease came out, or a new model, or a whim, or I was consumed by newcaritis we had something else in the garage, so since this is taxing my brain, I will list models of various machines we ended up getting and finally I will list our vehicles in the garage as of today.
2 PT Cruisers Turbos ( 1 manual, 1 auto ), Jeep Liberty, Ford Expedition ( 2 ) , Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Silver Chrysler SRT8, 3 Jeep Grand Cherokees, 2 Dodge Ram Diesels, Blue Ram 1500 CrewCab, Silver Dodge SRT10 P/U 2dr. 6 speed, 1998 Red Viper GTS, 2000 Black Viper GTS, 2003 Silver Viper convertible, 2004 Yellow Viper , 2006 Red/White Viper GTS, 2008 Venom Red Viper ACR, 2001 Yellow S2000, 1990 Civic HB engine transplant for the track, 3 White Spec Miatas ( 90,91, 92 ), 1992 White Escort GT, 2012 Boss 302 Comp. Orange, 2013 Boss 302 in School Bus Yellow, 2013 Boss 302S ( #18 of 50 factory built race cars ), 2017 White Shelby GT 350, 2021 Silver Mach 1 with the Handling Package,, Black Chrysler 300 AWD............................
I know I missed something, but I have slowed down a lot in recent years and I am sure it will be that way in the future as I am now retired, The garage currently holds the following :
1. 2022 Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie Crew Cab in Silver
2. 2013 Viper GTS Blue with White stripes ( Launch Edition )
3. 2020 White Macan S
4. 2024 Chalk Cayman GTS with full CF buckets and a PDK
Sure I wasted a lot of money on vehicles but I was selling for 4 years early in my life , and then later I spent another 27 in automotive sales, so please have some compassion, it is hard to be sensible when you work in the " Candy Store " every day, ha!
Money well-spent Willy - no such thing as wasting money on cars. That's an old tale from many centuries ago that's long been debunked. Pay no attention to the detractors.

And a majority of those machines saw autocross or track time over the past 42 years, so driving fast had a lot to do with the passion. A ride in a 356 at a German Hillclimb in the 1960s may have started my addiction!!
I did rewrite the last sentence as I actually got to ride in a 356 up the " Hillclimb Route " after the event was over. My dad's wingman ( a bachelor ) took me for a fast ride up the Eiffel Mountain's course and he was heavy on the gas. European track concerns were much looser than in the US. We paid 1 Mark at the time to do this ( about a quarter ) and my dad waited at the bottom until we came back.
PS -- I forgot my son's first car , which had to have both my name and his on it , a 95 Red metallic Probe GT. He still has the car, though modified with a handmade turbo set up he built. Plus a couple of motorcycles ( Honda CB350 and a Yamaha 250 dirt bike )
