Well the week is almost over so pics of my first two mods, and I already discussed the " Clear Lens " my Salesman and Son installed , but I also got in a chalk colored Mode Dial I ordered from Mr. Tom our Glorious Site Administrator. He is a lot like Crazy Eddie as an Insane Perfectionist, because the dial came in a small plastic container, wrapped in silver tissue paper for protection, inside a small box with packing. Keep in mind this is a plastic piece , encased in plastic, wrapped in a cardboard box ------- you gotta love the guy!

I am determined to find another use for this exquisite container!WillyDaP wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 10:42 am the dial came in a small plastic container, wrapped in silver tissue paper for protection
This week I infiltrated the 944Fest and had a round of DE with them on Friday, pics for another thread...
I recently installed RGS screens, very pleased with them and prefer how they install behind vs the Zunsports. Zipties are barely noticeable.

Fitted in, seems to work as expected. Only drove it to the shop to get fluids/pads swapped. Will hopefully give it another go after I finish reinstalling the interior trimJ-Dub wrote: Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:25 pm The last battery charger I bought supports lithium batteries just in case I took the plunge with one of my vehicles. Part of me does not want to take a risk with an unknown in the battery department, part of me wants to save the weight. Curious how you get on with the anti-gravity. Ebay had a bunch of no-name lithium batteries that had the BMS included for less than half the price of the anti-gravity. One of the Air cooled forums I frequent users posted good reviews.

Unpacked its upcoming upgrade—20" Carrera S wheels to replace the original 19" Boxster S wheels. While I've always thought the 19" tire sizes were fine, I've never been crazy about the BS wheels. Will step a bit outside the box and mount a set of Toyo Proxes all season tires to allow more cold weather driving through the winter. Probably 1-2 weeks away for the tires.

Great looking wheels. Looking forward to pics once they're mounted.Arne2 wrote: Fri Sep 15, 2023 1:06 pm Unpacked its upcoming upgrade—20" Carrera S wheels to replace the original 19" Boxster S wheels. Agree on the aspect and advantages of more versatile tires, at least for winter use in my case. I now have the OEM wheels mounted with MPS All-Season 4 tires as the winter wheel set for the GT4.

Took a beautiful canyon drive this morning with a fellow Porsche nut in town, I in my Cayman and he in is 911. The route has super tight windy and twisty sections that are super fun early in the morning when there are no other cars around.
What I wanted to report here though is this was the first long drive I have taken in the car since I remapped the water temperature gauge. Before, during all normal driving conditions the gauge read around 194 deg. We have seen it documented that normal mode runs the temperature hot for mileage and emissions and the sport and sport plus run the target coolant temperature cooler for power reasons. This is done by the computer as the thermostat is computer controlled, not a wax-stat like the old days. So I was able to validate that the target set point of normal mode is 215 degrees, the target of sport mode is either 195 or 205 depending if you are getting on it or not and the target set point of sports plus is 185. Some how I found all this interesting and satisfying.

Thanks for the water temp gauge reading report. I don’t know why Porsche would give us ‘dummy readings.’ I had my coolant temperature gauge recoded too - haven’t test it yet.J-Dub wrote: Sat Sep 23, 2023 1:03 pm Took a beautiful canyon drive this morning with a fellow Porsche nut in town, I in my Cayman and he in is 911.
