What did you do with your 718 this week?

When I received my Cayman GTS 4.0 2 years ago, I did the "collar mod" on the exhaust valve actuator. It was a pain to install, and a bigger pain to adjust. On a lesser forum, a guy proposed removing one of the 3 nuts on the bottom of the actuator, and installing a threaded rod coupling, and into that a hex head bolt to limit the movement of the actuator arm. Instead of the hex head bolt, I used a large head, knurled thumb screw, making adjustment to suit very simple. It is working well and is very easy to remove if needed. All done in stainless steel of course.

What is the goal of doing that? If you disconnect the electrical connector going to the solenoid, the PSE flaps will stay open all the time....

Open all of the time is not good, too much drone. This allows me to decide how far it will close to get the sound just right. Same concept as the collars, just easier to adjust and remove if need be.

Very interesting and well thought-out - clearly written too - even though a good bit of what he has done doesn't apply to a GT4. No matter, lots to chew on and learn from!
