Actually owned myself?
1995 BMW E36 316i compact: my grandmother's car, believe it had 114000 km, mechanically great, interior also great except for seats and sagging headliner. Unfortunately had a lot of dings and beginning rust because of her little accidents here and there. Sold it because I stopped using it once we got...
A 2008 Honda CR-V: my uncle's car. Great mechanically, interior, and exterior. Well cared for car. Unfortunately on our trip to Italy, I ruined the clutch in the mountains. Cost us 2600 EUR, which was more than the car itself had cost us. Sold the car not too long after because the wife got a company car
1986 Porsche 944 turbo: my first owned proper oldtimer and car I plan on doing 100% of the work myself on.
Every car you've ever owned...

I bought my first car to restore when I was 14 after mowing lawns in the neighborhood for many years. It was a total heap and really should have been junked but I loved it.
1. 1966 Corvair Monza 4 door 95 hp power glide
2. 1989 Volvo 240 wagon with a 5 speed, fantastic car just incredibly slow.
3. 1964 Corvair Monza 2 door 110 4 speed. I did a full restoration on this car and sold it to buy my wife’s engagement ring.
3. 1994 Volvo 940 great car
4. 1986 944 Turbo, still own it and love it.
5. 1993 Volvo 940 Turbo wagon another great car
6. 2005 Volvo V70R with a 6 speed manual, still have this too.
7. 2005 Volvo S60R.
Many more cars that my wife and I have owned jointly but most are not interesting.

first car i ever drove was a 1972 Buick Electra 225 that my dad handed down to me - huge V8, as long as a yacht, could see the gas gauge go down as you were driving it. i was 16 and i learned the importance of oil in a car. i ignored the low oil light, and after the engine seized up it went to the junkyard. my dad told me he got $200 for it so as not to hurt my feelings even more but I later found out that he had to pay someone to take it.

1967 mustang - 289
1977 porsche 924 - bought it knowing it needed a new engine. had a new engine put in. loved it, had so many problems - hated it. HATED it. hauled it around several housing moves. hated it. sold it for pennies. knowing what i do now about porsches, wish I still had it. No internet back then let alone awesome forums such as carpokes.

Good background info to go along with an interesting set of cars. Obviously, you are one who can keep your cars running the way they are supposed to.

In high school (late '60's), my dad was stationed in Karlsruhe. One of the officers he worked with started taking me to track days at Hockenheim and the races there. He had what ever the little BMW was at the time. That was my transition from American iron to smaller European and sporty cars. It's still a problem today.....WillyDaP wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 6:50 pm And a majority of those machines saw autocross or track time over the past 42 years, so driving fast had a lot to do with the passion. A ride in a 356 at a German Hillclimb in the 1960s may have started my addiction!!

Well Stormy , we are in the same era , as my Dad's wingman also had a Mini Cooper, a 356, and then a Facel Vega when we left Bitburg, Germany in 1964 , so going to hillclimbs and running around Nurburgring ( in an Opel and later in the Mini ) gave us the same carpassion! But, I imagine neither of us is complaining much, as it has meant a lifetime of fast times ---- I am still autocrossing and doing Time Trials with no end in sight!
