Mercedes' Toto Wolff has put casinos off limits for everyone from the head honcho (Toto) to the lowest on the personnel rung. Apparently McLaren has done the same.

However, no mention was made of the Mustang Ranch nor any of the other 10,000 (50,000?) like-minded entrepreneurs who gladly make room calls 24x7. Besides, there are slots in every corner, every nook and cranny of the entire geographical area.

Room service in Vegas means whatever the imagination can conjure and whatever the wallet can handle.

Bit of nightmare start with Sainz hitting a manhole cover and the session red flagged. Was so late that fans in the grandstands were required to leave as they had an obligation to reopen roads at a certain time.

Quali should be interesting with very cold track.

It's off to a inauspicious (horrid, actually) start. Even the WSJ has piece about the aborted practice session fiasco. And a 2am local time practice start?

Maybe they get it together at some point (next year or the year after), but this race weekend is likely to continue to be a boondoggle. (In all fairness, not unexpected for what's being undertaken.)
