In practice, he kept going deeper and deeper into a corner of standing water at Turn 1. He finally slid off onto a long, wide straightaway of wet grass in his 944. 360s of TREES-NO TREES. I am a recently retired State of California administrator.
I have been involved in Porsche activities since 1977 when I was the shop go-for at RaceTech in Mountain View. They had a legendary beast 914-6 Turbo that ran in PCA and POC time trials and did one IMSA event at Searspoint.
I own a 1970 911S which I have owned since 1986. Many modifications including big brakes (Alcon/928 S4 front, 930 rear), 2.8 MFI, 7 and 9 Fuchs. I will post some pictures soon.
My journey has included Rennlist, Pelican and now here.

That's going back quite a ways with Porsche which is pretty fine!

I second the welcome to Carpokes - it's great to have you as part of the group!

PS - pics are always welcome and are hosted by Carpokes, so no need for any 3rd party photo sharing website.

Greetings from South Florida,
I'm new to Porsche-recently purchased a 2013 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. I love it-maybe a little too much-LOL. My wife is calling it my "mistress." It's amazing to see the Porsche badge on my steering wheel and realize I'm finally in a Porsche of my own. Very excited to immerse myself in all things Porsche. I've recently completed a couple of easy upgrades and it's exciting to feel the accomplishment of a couple DIY projects-even if they are super simple. My next venture will be to replace the driver's side power button switch. I'm getting the tools and the switch. Now I just have to watch a hundred YouTube videos, so I don't screw the job up. Any suggestion on this project will be gratefully appreciated.

Just remind your wife whenever she questions an accessory, that you are only keeping your mistress happy , and what would she like in turn? Keeping two ladies happy may seem like a bit of a chore, but consider yourself lucky since they can both be topless, haha!

I remember RaceTech! There was also a racing supply store (similar to Pagasus now) in Mt. View, but I can no longer remember what that was called? I need to find an old phone book from the 80's... :) Your journey has led you to the right forum. We aim to recapture the enthusiasm and civility of the early forums, before they became a big business. Pelican is a bit different, and not entirely sure why it slowed down, other than I guess it was always tangential to their actual business. Regardless, you came to the right place. Welcome to Carpokes!
