Thanks but it could do with a repaint, at least the sills. I realise I have not taken many pictures since I started the 16V engine project back in 2014. It was in fact such a path of the cross to get to the point where it is today that I have basically lost most of my interest in the car. A shame really as it's only a proper intercooler set up away from really shining... but I just can't be bothered anymore. Perhaps a side effect of the PITA year we have all been going through.

I always find driving my 951 helps remind me why I like it. But I'll admit I go through ups and downs with it too, especially when other cars/projects crop up. What's going on with that throttle body bracket? And do you have any issue with the long intercooler tube blowing loose under boost? When I switched over to that type of pipe, I just couldn't keep it from blowing apart eventually, so ended up adding these boost braces. I bought these, but they'd be easy enough to make...

I only had issues with boost leaks until I thoroughly cleaned the contact surfaces between the hoses and the tubes with brake cleaner to get rid of any oily film. Never had any issue again, even running 23 psi of boost, and as you can see I am using completely standard clamps.

The throttle body is from an Audi 20V. It features a damper to avoid abrupt closures and smoothen the fuel cut. Not sure it's needed on an engine like mine but at least it's the minimum size needed for a 16V engine, it works with the 951 TPS and at last but not least the cool factor from the fancy bracketing must be worth at least 200 hp.

It is. I added it as a way to know if combustion gases were leaking into the cooling system -- it's a blown head gasket warning light. I put that in back when I was regularly blowing gaskets, but (knock on wood) I haven't blown the HG since putting that in, so can't really confirm how well it works. I believe Chris White (not sure if he's a carpoke yet?) commented on that before and said he did the same thing, or something very similar....

He does do that on his track car (not sure about his street car...maybe?) He has the aux ports to be able to. I used all mine
