My SA heard from Porsche that staffing issues at the port is the reason for the delay. Ships have come and gone with other people's cars but not mine :(.
Hopefully, your Taycan will be loaded soon.

Sounds more like it's waiting for a chip or some other part to be installed due to supply shortage issues. Odd that it would be sitting in Emden for that amount of time due to staffing issues while other cars are being loaded and delivered roughly on time. I'm convinced we will never receive the real reason for our specific situations. We just seem to receive these generalized corporate responses. As you said, until the events actually take place we won't know if the dates are real or not.
Thanks!

TYD was updated last night to say it's on the ship Supreme Ace which has left port now and is on it's way to Baltimore where my car gets offloaded for its trip to Chicago.
Great news!

Greetings Porsche owners and enthusiasts! I'm a newbie here, I went to a Porsche dealership about 2 weeks ago & signed up to get an allocation for a 2022 Carrera S 992. I've been told that it will take 6-7 months before I'll get it due to global supply shortage, just wondering if anyone has recently received one & waited that long.

Thank you.

Welcome! Did you receive an actual allocation? If you did you should have received a Commission Number with a Vehicle Status code. A Status Code of V200 means that the dealer will have an estimated delivery date for that allocation.

If you did not receive an actual allocation with a commission number and were just placed on the dealer's list you do not have an actual order. It will then depend on how many allocations the dealership receives and where you are on their list.

Hope this is helpful.

I think majority of the issue is with cars that has Aerokit specs, I think that’s why my GTS got bumped up to April production from mid February, on FB 992 forum that’s all what people saying even Europe and UK deliveries that has Aerokit got halted, I might just remove that option to speed things up

Mine went from February production to TBD when I added the Aerokit so I took it off and went with the lightweight package. You never know what delays may occur later this year.

Could very well be the case. I'm confused by his phrase "signed up to get an allocation." Just want to understand if he has an actual allocation.

I doubt he has an allocation, his name just goes in a queue, it depends how many people are ahead of him and how many allocation the dealerships gets and goes on first comes basis

First of all thanks guys for your reply. Sorry for confusion, when I went to the dealership I was jus placed on the dealer's list meaning I don't have an actual allocation with a commission number as of yet. I've been told I have to wait between 6-7 months before I'll be contacted when I get a spot.

Thanks for the clarification. If you receive a spot in July or August, as the dealer has indicated, it will almost definitely be for a 2023MY. The Allocation will be for a specified production month and delivery would normally follow a few months later. Best advice is to be patient and stay in touch with your SA. Good luck.
