For a 992 S, you might call around to the bigger dealers and see when they might have an allocation. 6 to 7 months to get an allocation for a 992 S 'seems' like a long time even in this environment. It also may help to get on several such lists, as those lists tend to be a bit nebulous in my experience and you'd increase your odds by spreading out a bit. A good friend of mine put himself on maybe a dozen such lists when the first GT4 came out, and I think only 2 of them ultimately offered him an allocation.... The 992 S shouldn't be like that, but the concept may still apply. Also, Welcome to Carpokes!!!

I already went to a bigger dealership about an hour drive from my place & guess what? They are charging $15k on top of MSRP to agree just to get me in the waiting list, that’s ridiculous!

The allocations have been coming out on a quarterly basis, normally the first month of each quarter (except for the fourth quarter of 2021 when they were delayed by one month and came out in November). This first quarter of 2022 should have just been released if they are back on schedule. Next round should be April and then July. I'm guessing that your dealer plans to get you in the July group. I obviously have no idea how many 992 S allocations your dealer normally receives nor how many people are on the list ahead of you, but July / August sounds reasonable if Porsche stays on schedule. Given the supply constraints my dealer also told me that they never know from one quarter to the next how many they will receive and which models they will receive.

That same gt4 friend is trying to get on a list for the new Gt4RS, and he's been told $125 to $150k ADM by the dealers that have allocations. So by that measure $15k over isn't bad, but I'm with you, I wouldn't pay that either. We're in a weird bubble with all the supply issues, etc., but this too shall pass. Listen to Hawk on the timing, I'm sure he's better plugged in to reality right now. I somehow got lucky with my Turbo S. It came months ahead of schedule (at MSRP) -- so much so that I had to scramble to get rid of my old one. Had I know car prices were going to start skyrocketing right after I got my new one, I would have kept the old one and sold it about now. They are selling on average about $30k more now compared to when I sold it early last year.

Your timing was absolutely impeccable for the Turbo S. My dealer (one of the larger) gets so few they even mention to me how difficult they are to get. And, for sure, some quarters they get 0.

$150k ADM for the GT4RS is what they are getting in Florida as well. My dealer will only sell GT's to repeat customers with high sales/purchase history at MSRP. That's how I received my GT3 allocation.

Pure dumb luck on my Turbo S timing.

Was same for me with my carmine red Cayenne GTS Coupe with lightweight sport package. My dealer reminds me every time they see it.

My TYD last week inserted some new duplicate milestone dates in my build. Really strange! So for example, I now have two separate milestones for "Ready For Transport" - the first says 04/01/2022 and the second one says 05/13/2022. I'm fearful that this coming week I will discover that it will be delayed an additional 45 days.

I guess we will just need to be patient and enjoy them when they finally arrive.
UPDATE: Well......my fears have been realized. An additional delay according to TYD today. New delivery date is May 27th.

I did not make any changes to my build just to avoid a possible delivery delay on my account. Porsche must still be experiencing supply shortages and/or COVID related labor issues.

Maybe your SA will be able to find out if there's something in particular in your build that is causing the delay.

When I placed my Taycan order I went with high gloss black on the exterior and when they submitted the build to Porsche they said that the rear wiper in high gloss black had a 3 month delay on it so I decided the wiper could be matt black.
Crazy to think the wiper out of all the options would be the one to cause the delay.

That's very interesting. I will ask my SA. Thanks.
