From Motor1.com -

"Huge Fire at Rivian Plant Destroys Dozens of EVs"

"More than 30 Rivians appear burnt down to their frames, with very little left. The other vehicles look fine at a distance, but there’s no way they escaped the heat without damage. The whole group could likely be a loss."

Scary. Better battery tech is on the way I think but meanwhile I'd be leery of putting one in a closed space without a lot of precautions.

The comments... ECV. Lol.

Yikes. Reminds me of the transport ship a few years ago. Unless someone figures out how to make lithium batteries less flammable, maybe best not to have them all parked so close together. In fact, it conjures up dreams of a door-ding-free world, where parking lots are required to have 10 feet between cars. Otherwise, this could be the Disneyland parking lot circa 2050.....

No wonder cars cost so much. They get them halfway across the ocean and sink them to the bottom, they leave them out in the parking lot and burn them.

It'll be an Absolute Zero day in hell when I buy any EV or Hybrid simply because I worked in a battery lab and know batteries. I also do not like complexity because I keep my daily drivers for well over 10 years...usually 14 and 16 so far before passing them on to friends.

As for EVs being "green", people need to get more informed.
