I'm sure the soap opera "journalists" will figure this out soon.

It sure does appear that way to me and others. I'll admit to being a Verstappen fan.Maruscmn wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2024 10:35 am Say what you will about Max but he is Motörhead through and through. "It’s very hard to pinpoint where that is coming from at the moment." I can appreciate how he looks at a problem and according to interviews, attempts to get in the weeds with the engineers to solve the problem.

The manufacturers title is going to be close! Loving it for the sake of the sport!Stormy_Monday wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2024 3:07 pm I'm sure the soap opera "journalists" will figure this out soon.

to me, it's interesting how, or why, Red Bull lost the recipe. Maybe geezerhood has set in....

They talk of lost "balance' last few races as they try to keep pace. Maybe others have caught up. Or Newey's secret muffler bearing. Or, as you said, Geezerhood.Stormy_Monday wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:29 am to me, it's interesting how, or why, Red Bull lost the recipe. Maybe geezerhood has set in....

I have to believe others are catching up , especially when you view the numerous winners this year. With Aston Martin falling back and Williams showing some better runs down lower, the front seems to be more jumbled than the past few years. Nice to have drivers running closer and next year could really show some surprise. Kudos to Colapinto finishing in 12th in his debut, in a car ( Williams ) we have often seen running in the basement. I am excited for 25 with all the new drivers and the coming changes. I hope Perez starts showing up higher in the standings or he may be relegated to RB with Lawson jumping up to run beside Max. That could push Max to another level ( up or down ) if Lawson meets the high expectations already stacked on him. I like Perez, but I wonder if a change like this might fire him back up or if his skill level is like Ricciardo and on the downslide. Staying at the top of your game in F1 has to be more difficult than we imagine, as the constant intense level and precision needed must be insane. Thanks for posting the results and data from various racing Series as sometimes life gets in the way and many of us miss some of the myriad of events going on.

All great and valid points - good analysis! I tend to agree that others are catching up. Horner pretty much conceded the same with this quote: "...and the others have obviously made a step and as we’ve pushed the package harder it’s exposed the issue. Even if you go back in the data there were a few races last year where we started to see this..."WillyDaP wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 7:32 am I have to believe others are catching up , especially when you view the numerous winners this year. And yes, it's good to see the closer competition between drivers, teams and cars that's now being reflected in race results.
Same as you and many others, I don't have time to watch the races as there is too much going on elsewhere. Many other matters call for attention. Lol. (I ̶n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ok, rarely - watch TV during the day anyway. It's not in my nature.) The recaps and a bit of discussion here suffices fine for me.

Any truth to the reports that Adrian Newey is coming to work at CarPokes?
