On this topic, I got a hands on look at these custom PDK knobs from Euro Impulse as an alternative to the Porsche ones. They are also customizable and manual knobs available too! I absolutely love the one I put in my car (the one in the video thumbnail). They offered to do a giveaway of two knobs so if you like it you should comment to enter to win one. Itching to update the shifter too, but seems like the boot red stitch options from various vendors is always guards/carmine red. Our Spyder came specced to bordeaux red stitching so the brighter red would probably be noticeable. That and the yellow font of RS shifter is holding me back.

How did the process work? You purchased OEM and made arrangements with EdGuardUSA to ship to them?

I called Ed and he outlined the process, stated a price, and claimed the boot would be an exact match with our Graphite Blue Leather with Racing Yellow stitching, something no other vendor would do. Then, I purchased the Sport Shifter & Boot from Suncoast and had it sent directly to Ed for custom boot fabrication. Once completed, Ed shipped the final product. Installation was unbelievably easy. The entire transaction was a breeze, communication A+++, and both the leather and stitching are, as promised, an exact color match. I highly recommend Ed and his work and look forward to seeing a picture of your finished product.

I could have sworn I had seen a GT3 or GT4RS knob with white lettering. Can’t find it now. I have black with red stitching and that yellow lettering ruins it for me. (Maybe not enough to keep me away from it).

But to answer the OP question - many have done it. Get the trim kit, get the appropriate leather or alcantara boot with your color stitching, get the knob. Pretty easy install looks like. Maybe I should make a video on that? Sponsors anyone?

This UK company sells replacement knobs, for the GT4 RS PDK shifter, with lettering in GT Silver, red, etc.

rennenpro.com delivered my shift-knob button (red pattern) in a week (from England) and after watching their easy-to-follow install YouTube video, I put the new piece on. The button is equal to Porsche OEM.

Just ordered a GT1 from Sportshifters in silver with black Italian nappa and gray front stitching to match the deviated seatbelt color in gray.............................................now to wait 8 weeks.....................

Last week, with the help of my friend @Leader I changed my OEM GT4 RS knob, with the standard yellow lettering, to one with silver lettering that closely matches my Chalk deviating stitching and seat belts.

After two months of indecision, I placed an order with Euro Impulse. They do not offer colors other than black or alcantara and I wasn’t sure it would work with my Luxor interior. Here is the result.
