Have I programmed a Track Nanny for Thunderhill for anyone here? Looking for feedback on my quiet zone if anyone has it, before I program another for a new user....

Well I can officially say the Track Nanny is an amazing piece of equipment. I installed it myself and it took me about two hours. It would have been much faster but I had a helluva time getting my hands in the tight spaces to hook up the electronics; my first time working on a Porsche! Very doable though. My 991.1 GT3 has a GMG center muffler delete and it is LOUD. I used the Track Nanny for my first two sessions at Thunderhill. Everybody I talked to said they had never heard of anyone getting flagged for sound at Thunderhill so I turned it off for session three. Flagged for sound after one lap at 105db. Turned it back on for my last two sessions and no issues whatsoever.You also have full control of the valves with the controller; you can leave the valves open all the time, keep the stock setup, or switch to the GPS track setup. I highly recommend this for anyone with modified exhaust, and it’s a must-have even with stock exhaust at Laguna. Tom was also super responsive and even expedited the shipping to get it to me in time for the track day.

I wanted to report back here. Recently installed in my 981 GT4. Installation was easy and straight forward. The pictures and instructions here and on Rennlist were plenty to get the job done.

I run a Cargraphic catless header with stock PSE exhaust. Blew 104dB last time I was out at the track. They have a 96dB limit at 50ft. Ran last weekend without any problems!!!! This is an awesome product. Game changing for me. Thanks Tom!!!

As mentioned earllier, I had one (Sold the car) on my Cayman GTS. It saved me at Laguna Seca, great product if you want to run tracks with low dB limits such as 90-92 dB at Laguna Seca. The Geo-positioning feature meabs it can be useful anywhere, just need the Long. and Lat.

Hello everyone, I currently have a 981 GT4 and am having trouble passing sound at Atlanta Motorsport park. Anyone have any experience with it there?

Howdy and welcome to Carpokes. I'd have to look so see if I've ever done one for that track, but it's not ringing a bell. I have, however, pre-programmed Track Nannies to work all over the globe (e.g., Australia, Germany, multiple states, etc.) so as long the sound meter is in a fixed location, it should work. What I don't know is if your car will be quiet enough, even with the Track Nanny engaged. For reference, a stock 981 GT4 will stay under the 92db limit at Laguna Seca with the Track Nanny. Looks like Atlanta Motorsport Park has a limit of 98db, which is promising, though I'd caution that db limits are not necessarily comparable since there are so many other variables at play.

Is your exhaust modified?

I’m currently running catless soul headers with PSE. I’m pretty sure with a track nanny setup I should be okay because last time I was there a 991.2 GT3RS with a modified exhaust never got flagged. The only problem is I’m not even sure where the mics are. They say they measure 50 feet from the track edge.

Ah well, we would need to know where the sensor is (or sensors are). Sounds like the limit is pretty high, so people may not be as dialed in on the locations there, but at Laguna Seca lots of the regulars can tell you where the booth is -- just because people have been coasting by it for years to avoid the flag.... So maybe ask around a bit at the track? I'll poke around too and see if they disclose it. There are some Atlanta guys here on CP that might chip in too.... Also, are you familiar with 'Laguna Pipes'? They look funny, but do reduce the measured decibels a bit.... Here's a fairly pronounced example....
