Nice to be here. Been a Porsche lover forever.
Currently have a 2018 AMG C63s Coupe, which I love, but I've been looking at Porsches for so long I can't remember. Just getting to the point where I hope a purchase is in my very near future.

Looking forward to seeing everything on this forum.

Wolf.

Hi Wolf,
Thanks for joining Carpokes and I hope a Porsche purchase comes to fruition. I don’t think you’ll regret your decision. BTW, your AMG is a very bad ass car - it’s a keeper.
Best,
Larry

Patjolson,

Understanding wifes are a blessing for many of us here. Mine got me into autocrossing/racing 44 years ago and she has never once complained about me getting new race tires, brake pads, rotors, wheels, etc., ha. Sounds like we both have some lovely ladies , both in the garage and in the house!

I've thought about it in the past but have been afraid to pull the trigger since I've never actually seen it in person.
Couple pics of the paldao Tom. And my Brewster green pts from one angle looks black and green from the other.

Greetings to all!
I’ve heard about Carpokes for some time, but just recently decided to join the forum.
I enjoy Porsche forums and I appreciate the camaraderie and helpful advice from others.

I’ve owned several Porsches over the last 30 years and it seems like I’m always looking forward to the next one!

Currently I have a 2013 Boxster S (Guards Red); and a 1985.5 944 coupe (Alpine White).
See my signature for some previous models…

That is one impressive list and glad you finally signed up. With all those Porsches over the years you likely will be able to answer many questions folks may have. Always loved the 944 and it's timeless looks seem to be winning many new folks over as it seems the market keeps rising for them.

Again welcome !

Thanks for the welcome!
I have picked up a lot of “minutiae” knowledge over the years, particularly about Porsche’s transaxle cars and early Boxsters & Caymans.

I’m not really super adept at mechanical work though and I depend a lot upon information from forums and videos to do things with the cars.
Looking forward to meeting you all virtually.

No worries , just having all those Porsches you likely heard or know someone who can help with something , or even know where to go for info. I am like you , not overly mechanical, just enough to be dangerous .......to myself, ha.

My first Porsche was an 86 944 turbo red and of course police can see this far far away. My second Porsche was a 78 928 which I bought in Winnipeg Canada. It was sitting in the garage for 12 years not having been started etc. I bought this car anyway I drained the gas and put fresh gas in and started to drive it back to my home in Wisconsin. When I got into Minnesota, I had to keep pressing hard on the gas pedal to maintain speed. Eventually, I could not travel more than 40 mph so I pull off near White cloud and staying in a hotel and look for someone to fix my car luckily I found a man who was quite knowledgeable about Volkswagens and was good friends with the Bosch distributor in California who overnighted a fuel filter the only one left in stock to fix my car. I drove the rest of the way

After arriving home and driving the car for 2000km the engine started sucking oil like it was oxygen. I took the car to a specialty Porsche shop that prepared cars for SCCA racing. They wanted $5000 to pull the engine and tell me what was wrong. Forget about it. I got an LT 1 engine from a Corvette and swapped it in place of the original engine. It really made for a great car now. I have just taken delivery of a cayenne turbo S 2006. I look forward to working with this car as well. It is faster than my Mercedes C 55 AMG. I am happy to be a member of Carpokes. Ralfdieter Heinrich
