I am a long term Motorsports enthusiast, my father took me to my first race in November of 1957 at Laguna Seca. For those who do not know that was the first race at Laguna. My dad had MG’s as I was growing up and that is what I learned to drive in. My Porsche affliction started at Manhattan Motors which was a ‘sports car dealer’ they sold and severed many Marks, including Porsche. I was a fan making many races at Road Atlanta, helped a friend build and crew his first SCCA 911, crewed with Bayside, and eventually owned a team in Grand Am. I am now retired from a technology and management consulting career. After the business and racing I was a partner in a Porsche restoration and product development firm. Now totally retired and still playing with cars.

What a great background setup regarding your racing history and experience! Would love to hear more and see pics too if that's something you can share. And a Grand Am team - how cool is that!! What was the team if you don't mind sharing.
By the way, we love photos on Carpokes, plus I have an additional affinity of those from past years and past decades!

Very happy to have you here on Carpokes. I bet the switch from MG's to Porsches was pretty memorable! Welcome aboard!
@RWAines
Welcome !
Nothing like racing and restoration background to teach you the ins and outs of 911's and Porsche in general....
I'm sure you bring a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to the group.
Thank you for joining!

Really, interesting... I actually thought the 718forum was a reasonably civil place compared to many, but admittedly I don't hang out there so don't really know, what with Carpokes to run and all. Your car looks great in those pictures. When people pick on cars like that, I always think of this clip....
Awesome pictures! Welcome aboard. If that's your garage, we need to see more of it asap.
