Looks great especially with the red inserts your seats have and there are plenty of us children of the 50s and 60s that love that common retro look -- just adds a bit of pop to the car's look in my estimation. Cool story and she does look fabulous with her new accessory, ha!

Since buying my '17 BS a few months ago, I've felt the black roof was not quite right. I got lucky when a member of the 718 forum offered up his used roof, having done a red - black swap a couple years prior.

I can turn wrenches, but handling, fitting, and gluing fabric is beyond me. I was certain I'd mess it up if I tried. So, I found a local shop with a leaky roof, little English spoken, and bunch of happy Yelpers.

This nice man took 7 hours and $800 on a stormy Saturday to transform my car.

I'm super-happy; I think this is the best roof color to go with my matte GT Silver over (early version) Burgundy/Black interior.

Beautiful job! She looks new again and IMHO how she should have originally been delivered.

My Boxster's driver's side seatbelt was fraying at the edges, and smelled faintly of someone's cheap cologne. So, I finally decided to call time-out, and have the belts re-webbed.

I'll post pics of the results when I get my new belts. Meanwhile, I found a spot where leaf debris collects - only discoverable by removing the belts.

There are two companies that I know of in the USA who do seatbelts:
Safety Restore - https://www.safetyrestore.com/webbing-replacement

Seatbelt Planet - https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/p-35844- ... hange.html

I cannot discern a product difference between the two, though there may be. I'm going with Safety Restore at a cost of $230, versus $380 for Seatbelt Planet. That's a 40% difference on the all-in cost, including one-way shipping.

One service difference is that Safety Restore does not seem to offer sample color swatches. BUT, they promise 24-hour turnaround, versus SBP's present promise of '7-10 business days' (up to 2 weeks)! That and the big price difference made my decision.

Removing the seatbelts is not difficult, but it does involve two interior trim pieces that do not pull straight-off, so I spent some minutes on Youtube to refresh my memory of the right moves. Only two bolts secure each seatbelt. The job requires a trim tool, a box-end wrench or socket, an internal triple-square bit, and something small to release the electrical connections. Some people pull off the rubber door seal to ease trim removal, but I left mine in place. The carpet need not be removed, though it is easy to do so; fold back a corner of the carpet to access the bolt that holds the retractor.

All I'm doing is driving back and forth to our house that the missus is renovating. At least, most mornings are top down.

I had Dean Palmer ( Palmer Racing Development ) put some Rennline GT3 lower control arms and Litronic brackets on my Chalk Croc and though I could get to -3 degrees of negative camber I decided to try the exact set up that " Mr. blueline " has on his GT4 ( well he is my favorite driver in Tennessee , ha). I figure I can go to -3 degrees later, but I wanted to try an equal set up front to back because ole Tim has plenty of time driving Das Stuttgart GT4!

I also installed a rear tow strap ( from Rennline ) and also acquired their front license plate bracke/frame kit which fits into the front tow hook area. We will be moving to Iowa this year and they require a front plate and there is no way I will drill into the front fascia of that pretty little girl!

Oh, yeh, I got snagged some used Pee-relli slicks from a friend, so we will see how they work. I often ran used slicks when I had a 2013 Mustang Boss 302S, both Michelin and Pirellis and the stiction was fantabulous!

We had the Space Coast Region's third Boxster Register event yesterday. About 30 cars and about 50 people, not all local either. Had a 70+ mile drive, great weather, temps in the low-mid 70s, lunch at a great restaurant in Titusville and plenty of time to yak and enjoy Porsche's best sports car.

No pictures yet as I was hosting.
