Hello Carpokers,

Can someone please explain what these two black leads are, situated at the rear of the engine bay. Both are the same 3 pin design, so which do I connect to which?!

Speed and reference sensors. Check the section under installation for how to determine which one plugs in where.

Originally there were little tags on the cables saying which was which. The one with DG is the speed (rear) sensor and the one with BG is the reference (front) sensor. If you can't find the tags on the labels, which is pretty common after all these years, you can guess and switch them if the car doesn't start; or you can use a multimeter to trace the wires back to the main DME connector (ref sensor goes to 26; and speed goes to 27).
