O2 Socket Necessary?

Hi all, replacing all 4 O2 sensors on my 2001 C4. Seeing conflicting info on the recommendation for an O2 sensor socket vs a 22mm fixed/adjustable wrench. Can all be accessed with a wrench? Would job be easier with a socket? Thanks.

Well now that I completed the project, I'll answer my own question :-)

Yes, an O2 socket is necessary; an offset version. And nice to have a breaker bar handy as well as a wobble socket.

What O2 socket did you use? I could not get 2 of the 4 removed from
My 08 997.1 turbo even as the muffer is out of the car now.
Current cars:
2008 911 Turbo 997.1
