Front seal question

Hello everyone,
I have a question about the shaft seals on the front of the 2.5 na engine. I did a reseal last summer. ( balance shafts,cam shafts and crank) I noticed that the seals I took out were brown colored and had helix marks on them indicating directionality.
My question is, has anyone replaced these with non directional seals?
My bearing and seal supplier was up in the air about this. He said many guys replace directional with non directional with the same result. I went with the non directional and so far I have zero leaks.
Just want to get everyones thoughts on this.
All the directional ones are suppose to do is direct oil away from the seal on rotation.
Personally I do 't have a strong opinion on this seeing as I have no leaks.
What's everyone think?????
