I just ordered the GT3 through them over the weekend and curious if it really does take that long to arrive. Any updates?

I'm either going to to love this or not love this. I like the idea of a modern but vintage look. The black rod will blend nicely into the black boot and the white lettering on the black "coin" will match the console buttons. Red was chosen for reverse to match my hyper-speed dial. I went with the polished edge around the coin to tie-in to the silver trim in the cockpit. I'm hoping the Mahogany will compliment the Burberry seat belts and the crest on the wheel.

...or this is just me trying to justify a bad decision

I think it will look great! That's a sharp-looking rendition of what you're going to be receiving. Besides, if you like it, then it's perfect. :D

It has been about six weeks since I ordered and I get an email at every major milestone, below is the last one I received around 2 Sept. Mine is like the one pictured with gray visible stitching showing in the front to match the gray seatbelts and the brushed silver matches the interior.

I had exchanged emails with Roy at Sporshifters (v quick response) with a few pre-order questions and he stated that they are around 8 weeks right now as during their holidays they were up to 12 weeks.

Yours looks pretty cool! The waiting is the hardest part!

Order progress update

Hello XXXXX!

Your order #1234-5678 is now halfway the production line.
The main parts for your order have been machined successfully and are now getting ready to be brushed and anodized in the color of choice.
When this step is completed your order will enter the final stage of production.

Oh neato...I see how this works now. I just got the notice that it's going to production.

I do like yours a lot, will definitely tie-in to the interior as if OEM (but way better). This was a toss-up for me. Please share once installed!

@JodehFoster Will do! The other nice touch is that it can be mounted on the shaft to 1" lower. Share your picts as well, curious to see the Mahogany and your interior together - should look great.

@JodehFoster As requested plus bit more.

The Sportshifter came this week - from time of order to receipt it was 12 weeks. All along major milestones were communicated by emails. Shipping from the Netherlands to US (Colorado) was about 1 week. I had to pay approx $23 in duties due to the tariffs in place. UPS made it easy.

In short, the knob was easy to install. Most time spent (aside from drooling over it after it arrived, opening the box, etc. - it came with a stroopwafle!) was removing the OEM shift knob from the boot - not wanting to break the plastic tabs during the process. After that, the install was very simple. There are some videos about the removal on a 718 like this one https://youtu.be/Q7ou8llkJ38?si=qtRSLNtVxwE6tHJX but they do not go over the the bit of releasing the 4 knob tabs. I needed to do some more twisting and careful pulling once the knob was off of the rod.
I got the GT1 - for me a noticeable diff in diameter, although the diam is only smaller by 1 mm by my approximation. Nothing bad just different.

I mounted the adjustment ring so the 3 set screws sit in the notch that is in the shifter rod. My thought was that it will not slip and I could push firmly down on the new knob while tightening without any slippage so the boot would stay put when sandwiched in-between the knob and the adjustment ring. With this position the height different was approx. 20 mm (a little less than 1").

From a driving experience, the shifting felt more crisp, most likely due to the shorter height and the slightly heavier weight than stock. I felt more connected to the shifting - this is most likely a placebo effect on my part. More driving today.

Overall, it looks great, matching the interior well - much more refined and P-car-like than the stock. My wife just rolls her eyes and pats me on the back like I am a 5 yr old getting a new toy....wait...... perhaps I still am........ha ha.
