I'm not sure if anyone else has ever wanted something like this, but I had a little comfort itch that I wanted scratched and thought that it wouldn't be too hard to create. And It turns out, it wasn't that hard. So, I present the "981-982-991 lid riser": a little doohickey that clicks in between the latch on the center console storage compartment lid and the square hole it fits into in the center console. The idea is to raise the height of the console so that when you're cruising along a straight road, maybe with cruise control on, you can comfortably rest your elbow on the center console while still holding the steering wheel (something that was not possible for my particular torso/upper/lower arm lengths).

Are you selling them, or willing to post the STL? Either would be welcome here! Nice design!

Very creative Andrew.
This might be helpful for those who keep their phone in there plugged in, should ventilate the bin to keep phones from overheating.

Nah... I don't think I'm going to try to sell them. I do have some final tweaks to make to the model, and after that sure, I could post an STL file.

Yes, it had occurred to me it would also work well as a ventilated storage area when in place.

Hi, all - sorry for the delay. I'm finished creating the 3D file for the above. This final one fits a little more snugly, has a better sort of "springy" mechanism for the little tab, and has a little personal logo signature on it.

You can download the .stl file so you can print one of these yourself by going here: https://alavigne.net/FileDownloads/inde ... ox/Porsche and clicking on "JAL-981-982-991-riser_v19".

For those of us that don’t have 3-D printers, would you be willing to sell a few?

Brilliant!

I too would love to have one but.... don't even know what a "STL" is.

Closest I can guess is St. Louis. So....
