I'm expecting my Cayman GTS 4.0 in a couple weeks, very exciting!
These days they offer the PSMP pre-paid maintenance as a package option and I'd like to make an informed decision about whether it makes financial sense.
Here is general information on the program:
https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessories ... ance/psmp/
That points to two other documents, this one describes the options and what happens at each scheduled maintenance stage - but its general and not specific to any particular car:
https://assets-v2.porsche.com/us/-/medi ... an-Options
And finally the MSRP costs for each stage, and this one does break it down for the different car types:
https://assets-v2.porsche.com/us/-/medi ... an-Pricing
Clearly the cost for the 718 Specialty cars is higher than the normal 718 which is fine, but I'm confused by the big price difference and cost for the 4 Year/40k Mile service.
The plan options document indicates the Plus Three tier (40k) its the same as the Plus One tier (20k: Oil, Brake Fluid, Cabin Air Filter) but also includes the Engine Air Filter and Tire Sealant - but there must be something else going on for it to be more than twice the cost ($5730 vs $2500). What all is involved in that 40k service?
I have not been able to find the actual maintenance booklet online anywhere, and other forum posts from owners suggest that all 718 cars have the same schedule. Can anyone with a GTS 4.0 share the information from theirs?
PSMP and 718 GTS 4.0 Maintenance Schedule - 40k big service?

I'm sure you'll get plenty of GTS owners chipping in with their real world service costs. All I can tell you is that the 4 year/40k service is the big one for most Porsches (i.e., expensive one). Happy to be corrected, but $10k+ seems like more than the current cost of all services up to 5yr/50k, but I suppose it's inflation proof and probably good for resale.

I passed on PSMP.
I found it too restrictive.
Read the fine print, my understanding is it is tied to the vehicle, so if you sell the car, you have to try and recover your spend.
If the car is stolen or written off, do they keep the money?
Also, I have occasionally seen it go on sale, or discounted. Without that, it did not seem like a good deal to me.

I'm working on the fourth year of owning my Boxster GTS 4.0. I did not opt for the service agreement. And, this car has not had any issues except a couple of sensors go bad during the first year.
My wife opted for the service agreement on her new Cayenne e-Hybrid. So we will see.

Could you do me a favor and take some photos of the maintenance schedule booklet for your Boxster GTS 4.0 and post here? I'm particularly curious about what they specify for the 4th Year/40k Mile service. But seeing what is required for the earlier ones would also be helpful.Stormy_Monday wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 2:46 pm I'm working on the fourth year of owning my Boxster GTS 4.0. This service interval guide and naming structure that I put together and copied below doesn't answer your questions regarding detailed work to be done which, as you mentioned, is based on the model being serviced. However, it does provide a way to help in determining how extensive (and expensive) each level will be and also to more easily see how the levels sort over time. This covers all models of modern ICE and Hybrid Porsches going back a good number of years.
Service Intervals:
Basic Maintenance - years 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, etc (or at 10k, 30k, 50k, 70k, 90k, etc).
Intermediate Maintenance - years 2, 6, 10, etc (or at 20k, 60k, 100k, etc).
Full Maintenance - years 4, 8, 12, etc (or at 40k, 80k, 120k, etc).
Replace spark plugs every 4-yrs or 30k.
(The repeating pattern is Basic-Intermediate-Basic-Full, which can get confusing over time if one doesn't pay attention. In my case and to overcome that deficiency, I indicate the scheduled intervals by name on my spreadsheet svc records. The above interval list helps me keep it in order.
)
If you are getting the PSMP, it seems to me that the Plus-3 would be the wisest choice since it covers the most expensive Year-4 "Full" maintenance interval.
