We now have a Racing sub-forum on Carpokes!

The goal, as with everything Carpokes, is to have a friendly and open place to talk about anything and everything regarding on and off track driving and racing activities, including (but not limited to) car control clinics and off-track safety, basic non-high performance driver’s ed, HPDE’s and track days, on-track safety, off-road events, AX, amateur racing - Club and otherwise, track venue feedback, the state of the sport and where it’s headed, and, of course, Pro racing of every kind at any level you care to discuss!

And oh yeah – pictures. Lots and lots of pictures please! Pictures of your track cars or off-road cars, on-track pics, lap videos, Porsche race cars (and others too), car set-ups, gear, safety, etc.

We’ll be migrating specific racing topics previously posted on Carpokes to this section over time. If one gets overlooked and you want it moved, please let us know.

Yes! Just do it! Getting on track is such a great experience. Even if you only do it once, you can at least have a lot of fun and satisfaction knowing you did it. You might get hooked!

Barber is a great facility! Its a race track, museum, art and garden show all rolled into one. The pit area that I've seen is all paved, its very convenient off a major freeway not far from Birmingham, Alabama, easy in and out unlike a lot of tracks, Buc-ee's on the way to/from the track next to the freeway (for those who are unfamiliar with Buc-ees, think huge convenience store, gas station, massive CLEAN bathrooms, hot food, bakery, ice, drinks, dog friendly area, etc.... all in one place), just an overall great facility.

Interesting view on doing Mosport , and if the pricing is in Loonies, then that could be a bonus for drivers down here in the US. At 5995 for the " Masters " Class that would translate to approximately 4556 US Buckaroos! That might make it a strong option for those of us in the Southern part of North America, and Mosport ( sorry, tough to say Canadian Tire Motorsport Park ) is a legendary track. Not to say Barber is not also on many " Bucket Lists " , but this may have to be on my 2024 Vacation Calendar. I wonder if I can get away with just telling momma we are going back to Canada again, ha.

You can get away with that excuse - I'll vouch for ya!

And yes, it'll always be Mosport to me too. I bet it would be a fun track to drive.

I looked in all the wrong places for " New Topic " and of course the minute you mentioned it I found it immediately. The listing of all the track events in this area is dynamite as it helps folks all across North America. I am a track rat and have been autocrossing , road racing or doing Time Trials for over 42 years so I really appreciate this new section. I will look forward to checking in this area especially and hopefully and I can add a little insight for some about some tracks, and other race related subjects.

That's a lot of track years! Wow! Very impressive!

Regarding the listings, thank you! I've been compiling these spread sheets for many years - they are a pita to put together (mainly due to the difficulty of gathering the schedule info from the many Tower of Babel groups that put on events). But they are so helpful. I have a small email list of appreciative people I know who I send them to and then I realized I should post them on Carpokes, which I did. Thanks for taking the time to sniff them out. :thumbup:

I know that I'm not really with today's zeitgeist but, hey, it's supposed to be 80s right?

@Lowencash

Well, they all make me smile so in my book any would work. The Schnell is near the top for me, as well as your namesake livery. Can't go wrong with Daft Punk either!
