Engine mounts
I've often wondered why - when the car is cold - putting the gear lever into the reverse position results in the shifter hitting the edge of the gear shift cutout. After the car has been warmed up, I presume expansion in the mount has occurred and hitting the side doesn't seem to be the case any longer. Could it be that the mount has 'collapsed"?
On the oft-debated engine mount topic, from what I understood most if not all of the aftermarket mounts ARE still fluid filled - at least that's how they're marketed. E.g. Meyle was stayed as hydraulic per FCP, and Hamburg Technics were proven to be hydraulic by 944online. I've heard that Meyle / HT and URO are all basically the same damn thing produced in the same factory and then resold / rebranded but that's to be confirmed. Meyle had reached out to Tim Comeau for feedback, and they've been sold out for while so one can only hope they're redeveloping them to be better solutions.
That said, with the price of a single OE mount approaching over $400 EACH, it's increasingly frustrating that the OE supplier isn't reselling them without the porsche brand anymore... I think it used to be Rein or Corteco, if I remember right.
One day, one day.

Yep, $396 and change at Delaware Porsche. I purchased two from them in 2021 for $236 each. They are still in the box.sefeing wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 2:36 pm That said, with the price of a single OE mount approaching over $400 EACH
