I was invited to show my 996 TARGA at Werks Reunion Monterey, this summer, and, this guy that was chatting with me about it, stated that White, was a very rare color on 996's. I had never heard that before, and, was wonder if is is based in fact ? or, him just pulling my leg ??? Are there any other White 996's out there ????

Saw my 1st Porsche, in 1962, at age 11, whilst riding with Dad in his VW, in Tucson, AZ.
Love at 1st sight....
Now, 35 Porsches later.....what can I say.

I'm not sure in the 996 era, but in more current models, it is not "Carrera White", but "Carrara White" (like the marble). Carrara White was a premium offering for years in the late-teens and into the early-20s. Not common, but not rare.

I don’t think white 996 cars are very rare in addition I think there were 3 or 4 different shades of white during the 996 run. But White was definitely less common then a grey/silver shade or Black
