Thanks! Figured I should probably get situated over here as well

I had it parked outside my house and a drunk driver slid into it - For better or worse it was right as prices started heading up, so it made more sense just to let it go than try and repair the unibody/suspension damage.

I already had a replacement, but this is an NA thread! I picked up a black 89 951 about 9 months before that happened. Just need to finish the engine-out reseal I ...barely... started this winter

I do miss the character of an NA though, maybe one day...Storage is the limiting factor at the moment!

Welcome to Carpokes! That car brings back memories. When I got my first 'grown-up' job in the late '80s, I test drove that exact car. I remember it feeling soooo German and exotic, but no matter how hard I squinted at my new paycheck, there was no way I could afford it. The sticker was over $35k if I remember. Even the non-S was over $30k and seemed equally exotic and well-built back in the day. I ended up getting a brand new RX-7 for under $15k, which was a great car and put me on a path to owning quite a few RX-7's over the years, but that Porsche test drive stuck in my head until I was finally able to get one.

I also had Rx7's 1st & second gens and would have sworn that I would have owned a 3rd gen?

My '86 with only 17,000 original miles that I rescued this year after finding it abandoned in a locked garage for 20+ years. Of course this photo was taken after three months of cleaning, detailing and mechanical work. It still had all its original parts on it from day one right down to the hoses, timing belts and tires when I towed it home so you can imagine all the work needed to bring it back to life.

Oh my, THAT's a car! The more pictures you can post for originality the better! Might need it's own thread to do it justice. Spectacular car and with 17k miles, it doubles as a retirement portfolio these days!

Here are a couple more photos. I was very sympathetic to leave as many of the original parts untouched and in place as I could and I still have all the parts I replaced in a box. The only thing I discarded were the tires because they broke apart during removal. The photos show how well the original paint and interior survived being locked away from sunlight. Even all the door and hatch seals are original and still pliable. If there are any photos you would like showing originality, I would be happy to supply them.
