Targa 4S with Factory Rear Privacy Glass

Comparing my production shot to yours makes me wonder if the production shot is actually our car. The glass is much darker than that image depicts.

And yours is beautiful by the way!

Boy...that's a tough call. They sure look similar. Oh well...I guess I'll find out when it arrives. FWIW, yours is the first '26 Targa 4S I've seen here in the USA. Congratulations! That's BEAUTIFUL CAR!

Upon further investigation of the in-process factory build photo Porsche sent me via TYD, it appears to show a tinted rear window...at least from what I can tell. So maybe I do have the same factory tint you've got on yours??? Do you have the same photo of your Targa you can compare this to?? Thank you.

To me, that looks nearly identical to the tint on yours. However, the back window is substantially darker in person than this photo depicts.

Per our dealer, they asked Porsche if this was just how they were sending 4S's if the black targa bar was selected, and Porsche told them, no, this was a mistake.

Thank you and fully agree. The tint looks identical on both vehicles. Seems to me that if Porsche had intended this rear window tint to be standard equipment on all 2026 992.2 Targa 4S's they would've included a description of same under the "Standard Equipment" list, much as they do the tinting on the top portion of the front windshield.

Any chance you can post some photos of your Targa rear window as it looks at your dealership? Maybe get your Porsche CBA to take a few and e-mail them to you if it's inconvenient for you to get to your dealership?? I'm very curious to see how it looks on the car.

Light makes a big difference in how much you can see into it. I think it may appear lighter in sunlight. We’ll see. Different photos capture it differently, too. The more I see it, the more I like it. Will probably keep it.

I LOVE IT!! I think the tint looks great with your black roof, dark green paint and black wheels. It's a very classy looking Targa!! I really think they did you a favor. Fingers crossed on what arrives on mine next month. I actually hope they make the same "mistake!"
