Well, if it is a glitch or error of some kind they'll probably figure it out at some point when their online sales drop to zero.
Or maybe that's the goal? No more online sales?
What's become of Sunset Porsche parts?

These days there are dozens of dealers that have offer deep online discounts (delaware, Marin, Suncoast, Gaudin, etc.) so maybe it's no longer worth the effort for Sunset. I also wonder if the corporate-template website is using some tone deaf shipping cost database selected by the same guys who are in charge EV strategy and new-car pricing.
Suncoast doesn't use that template and it's shipping costs, while not a bargain, are about what you'd expect...

Many local Dealers offer a PCA Discount, though some may want to see a membership card. Since Carpokes advertises in "Panorama " there is a strong chance the majority of the members on the site are members and often asking this question will get you a discount from your local Dealer or one nearby.
Shipping has gotten high enough on some items that coming direct to a store near you can often be a simple answer.

Shipping costs are significant these days, but I strongly suspect that some online sellers are hiding extra profit in their shipping quotes. Sell the item cheap, but pad the shipping cost to maintain a decent profit. This tactic was very common when eBay started moving to the 'Buy-It-Now' model. When that first started up, eBay assessed seller fees the same as they did for auctions—they took their cut on the sales price of the item, excluding shipping. This quickly led to items priced at $1, but with $25 shipping. (eBay ended that practice by assessing fees on the total transaction, including shipping.)WillyDaP wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 4:10 am Shipping has gotten high enough on some items that coming direct to a store near you can often be a simple answer.
I've seen this in purchases for my current Bronco project. I can buy the same part from numerous different vendors. Prices for the parts are fairly consistent. But shipping cost for the same items varies widely. On a recent order I had shipping quotes of $32 from a vendor 300 miles away, or $9.95 from a vendor 3000 miles away. Same parts, similar prices. But one of the two appears to be skimming profit from the shipping...
