I have an S2 project car coming together and have in inoperable tachometer. I have tested the tach with a 9v battery as described by Tom, it appears to be functional. I'm trying to understand the wiring path, the instrument wiring diagram shows the signal originating at pin 2 of the hall sender and landing at pin 14 of the tachometer. The engine wiring diagram shows pin 2 of the hall sender connecting to pin 8 of the DME plug, this path has continuity. I need help please to identify the remaining path from the DME to the tachometer.

Goes from pin 6 on the DME to the tacho, via the 8 or 14pin plug near the DME (depending on year).

Amazing! That will hopefully be the missing link.
Thank you for taking the time to post this.

No problem, I have all the 90 drawings stitched together as well if you need them, makes them much easier to follow. 89 and 91 are slightly different so you have to be careful you have the right ones.
