I see, thanks.
A long time ago I was told by a 968 turbo S owner (that Reiner knows well) that this splitter had been designed "soft" on purpose to "bend" at high speeds to increase downforce. I had one for a while on my 951 but it wasn't a perfect fit with the different bumper and I eventually replaced it with something else in hard plastic, that also works pretty well.
I can't remember any flutter with the original part though that could be because it wouldn't budge when forced to fit to a 951 bumper.

All 968 CS came with M220. Gearbox cooling loop was a 944 feature, not on 968s.
All 968 CS did NOT come with option 220 lsd. And I know the gearbox cooling loop was a 944 turbo feature, I've had 2 of them.
Sorry, what is your source for the gearbox information on the 968 CS?

The '93 Service Technik (WKD 498 520) would seem to say LSD was option M220.

Clearly I spoke definitively when it wasn't correct.

I was surprised to learn today that of the 1538 CS cars, only 396 came with M030 and 696 total had M220. Shocking that less than half of the CS had M220, seems like a real missed opportunity.

Well, some books suggest the CS was an attempt to boost 968 sales that were far from good back in the period by offering a discounted version of the car with less equipment. It is possible that extras like the LSD were left out by many original owners speccing their car on the cheap.
As time goes by though, less becomes more!

So Axl, since you thought the M220 was standard on the CS I guess we can assume you happen to have one of the rare machines that has the option? If so it appears your car just becomes rarer and rarer, ha!!

It was straight out of Porsche's playbook at the time...

When I moved to Stuttgart, I knew a 968 CS was in my future. Many years ago, Excellence ran an article in probably 2002-2003 that had a comparison between Speed Yellow and Riviera Blue CS variants. It really stuck with me how cool they were and I resolved to have one some day. I looked for about a year before I found my car. It's had 6 (German) owners, so it was essentially unsellable in Germany but it was the perfect driving condition car with all of the right options. Original, unlike the bulk of 968 CS for sale here.

Thank you for the additional photos, particularly the engine, and I loved the window winder shot.....something many kids (at least here in the US) have no idea what that is for as many think all cars have power windows.
